Reflection

Rosa Parks Rosa Parks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4th, 1913.

She is most famous for refusing to give up her seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama which caused a boycott of the public bus system.

She was a civil rights activist that helped launch desegregation of public facilities across the country.

Family History

Both of Rosa’s parents were former slaves and advocated for racial equality.

Rosa had many experiences of racial inequality.

Her grandfather helped to protect her family from the Klu Klux Klan by standing in front of their house with a shot gun to protect them.

The school did not have appropriate supplies such as desks.

Rosa had to drop out of school to take care of her family members.

She sat in one of the first several rows.

A white passenger got on the bus and asked for her seat. She refused to give it up.

Reflections

This final was not hard, however it was time consuming. The hardest part for me was coming up with a topic that I could really expand on. I chose to use Rosa Parks and Black History so that I could utilize this presentation in an elementary classroom setting.

The purpose and content of this Powerpoint is to inform and educate elementary students about Rosa Parks and other important Civil Rights Activists.

The only problems I had while creating my presentation was that it would randomly shut down. Luckily I saved my work often and did not lose much when these technological glitches happened.
