We are partnered with the Diocese of Pennsylvania and have a long history with many of its 134 parishes. Pictured: African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas
LIVING OUT YOUR FAITH
“What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” – Micah 6:8
As a person of faith, you live each day to answer God’s call. With purpose and with God’s guidance, you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being, as the Baptismal Covenant inspires.
Your faith drives you to do every bit of good you can to repair and restore the lives of those who need it most. And Episcopal Community Services is here to be a vehicle, for which you use to be generous and do good.

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
–Desmond Tutu

When we work together, we make a measurable impact for families like Antoinette’s, seeking stability and safety.
LOVE GOD; LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR
Across the Diocese and City of Philadelphia, people of faith—like you—are moved to serve in God’s name.
You find ways to benefit others through everyday acts of kindness, through opportunities offered by your place of work and worship, and through Episcopal Community Services (ECS).
Our brothers and sisters come to ECS for your help. In reaching your hand out to those in need, you are opening doors for families experiencing homelessness, unlocking the full potential of school children, and clearing the path for families on their pursuit of economic independence.
While the work of ECS has evolved since its founding in 1870, the common bond that links our rich history and
continual impact remains the same: It is you.
Joined in faith, we are united to help the needy and vulnerable live more dignified lives.
A Covenant with the Diocese amplifies our collective impact, and a Chaplain links us even closer to each parish and every rector and congregant. We are well-positioned to put our faith into action.
In Philadelphia, where poverty remains the highest of the nation’s biggest cities, poverty is a trap for those it affects. It is reflective of the inequities rampant in our culture.
The gospel calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves. When we pair that compassion with the most informed solutions to combat poverty, the opportunity for lasting change is endless.
Our hope and prayer is that, together, we can break the cycle of intergenerational poverty, improve lives, and transform the region into one where the path to prosperity is available to all. This work could not be done without you.
