originally built in 1884 by Lord Hillingdon as a beautiful enhancement to Dorton

House, which dates back to 1669 and was the residence of Sir Charles Bickerstaffe.

The elegant courtyard buildings are renowned as being some of the finest

examples of Kent Ragstone, a locally sourced grey limestone, still in demand and

greatly valued, especially in the preservation of historical sites.

Having been originally built as stables and coach house, The Stables were

subsequently used to house wounded soldiers during the First World War, indeed

our homes are named after some of these regiments. More recently, The Stables

housed the highly reputable Seal Laundry, which was first managed by Captain

S.W. Wells, serving Downing Street and many premium hotels in the West End.

The buildings have since undergone a carefully crafted restoration that now reflect

its positioning within an area of prime real estate.
