Why are posts dissapearing

Why are posts dissapearing

I realize this is supposed to be un-moderated forum and everything as far as I can

tell has been on the up amp up with little to no bitching and insulting So why are

certain threads disappearing that are extremely sterile of anything controversial

IE

My watch box link to acetimercom about those looking for a new watch box (I

reposted it with a review recently)

The link to the cloned neptunes

A little clarification on what is or what is not permitted would be helpful Because

I assure you (who ever is in charge) that if this keeps up this forum will be a ghost

town

There are a lot of very faithful Renato fans here and I have to believe if this keeps

up even those members are going to lose their faith within a short amount of

time To me this has ended up being a total marketing blunder that is going

downhill very fast In all honesty the best idea would be to make it go awaylol A

lot of faithful fans are seeing more and more shortcomings and in sales NOBODY

stays faithful through every thick and thin I do really love my Renato watches but

Im not a fanboy of any brand and all this forum has done for me is make me

question any more purchases I probably wouldve never questioned the preorder

thing until this forum came about

Daniel Either the forum has to be unmoderated or moderatedI can tell you

from experience that there isnt really an in-between When you try to straddle

that fine line all it does is make you look bad to both sides of the field Been

there done that Not trying to be pessimistic but going this route never works

haters hate If you wanted everything to look great on this forum it shouldve

definitely been moderated from the start Scrubbing threads and posts incognito

is way worse than having defined moderation

Its fine that this site exists as a tool to assist in the sale of watches I have no

problem with that But I am expecting it to live up to the commitment that DM

made when he started it that it would remain a largely un-moderated forum

without the heavy handed censorship that plagues the WG world If this forum

starts going the way of WG and there starts to be extensive deleting of posts and

threads and banning of members then it will be hugely disappointing

Dear Renato Geeks

We had a major SPAM issue and to the degree that it was intertwined into many

existing threads We had to implement a software to eliminate all of the SPAM

and it by accident deleted many threads We are working to curtail the spam as

much as possible but it is definitely challenging Some people just have nothing

better to do with their time

There are quite a few people here who like Renato watches and want a site and

yes a sales information site about them Then there are the 4-8 members that

dont own any and the only reason they are here is to spread rumor and innuendo

about the company the owners or the site I fail to understand if many of you

really believe those things why are you here Why dont you go somewhere that

has a topic that interests you instead of one you dislike and feel a need to play the

game your playing

Yes Because we had to delete amp ban certain users who were creating SPAM all

the time We used a featured that accidentally deleted all posts that they started

and that they commented on or replied on We changed that to just deleting the

threads they created These people are sending a lot of SPAM our way and we are

really trying to block it as quickly as possible Seems like they are focusing on

blasting our site non stop

Daniel all you have to do is turn off auto validation of new members If you

screen members when they register it is very easy to stop the spam from

occuring in the first place

Well since you have to register to actually see the contents of the forum that

would stop potential customers from seeing the daily promotions and could

impact sales Plus how will he know if a prospective member is a spammer or

not

Does he have the time to do manual sreening at the forum Folks are having a

difficult time getting a response to questions posed at the site (like the multiple

tourbillon posts)

I manage to root spammers out of my siteforums every day Its very easy to do

Most spammers have email addresses that are very obviously spam related (info

ru biz etc)

If he doesnt have the time to do the manual screening he should find someone

that can

That is great that you have the time to root spammers out but it appears that

there are other priorities at work for Renato and they have made a decision to go

in a certain direction I doubt it will change

outstanding issues (tourbillon for example) You have to address the holes in the

ship before you kick the rats offbecause the rats can swim and a sunken boat

It is quite a big hole in the ship when your forward facing customer gathering

place is being overcome with spammers

One of many holes to be surebut an easy one to fix nonetheless
