Truck Repair Hoists

Transfer Tables

Body Supports are similar to BodyHoists and are powered to raise or lower their own weight only. The BodySupport, however, has no motive powercapability to lower or raise the car butprovides support of the car body onlywhen trucks are being removed. CarHoists are required to be used with BodySupports. Standard capacities rangefrom 5 to 20 tons.

Truck Repair Hoists are similar toCar Hoists. A Truck Repair Hoist’s pri-mary purpose is to provide the mainte-nance personnel with convenientaccess height for repair of the truck.Truck Repair Hoists are placed in line with or adjacent to the truck releasetrack, with a capacity equivalent to thetruck weight.

The Transfer Table is an invaluabletool for maintaining traffic flow between tracks in a car repair or maintenance shop. While Transfer Tables normally require a pit up to several feet deep, Whiting can supply a table not requiring any pit. This design is unique in that it still permits normal traffic flow on a track even when the Transfer Table is busy on another track.

Whiting Portable Electric Jacks consist of a steel basecontaining worm gearing. Welded to the base is a structuralsteel column assembly housing an alloy steel jackscrew andjack nut. The jack nut travels on the screw and supports thelifting bracket. A single operator manning a Portable Electric Jack station can control simultaneous operation of anynumber of jacks. Each jack may also be operated individually.

Whiting Portable Jacks can be equipped with a varietyof specialized lifting brackets to meet the requirements of unique lifting operations. Jack capacities range from 15 to60 tons.

Turntables are available in different sizes based upon the

pplication. Large diameter Car Turntables equalize wheelear due to prevailing track system curves by rotating thentire car 180°. Turntables are also available to rotate aingle truck in 90°increments. These can be either manualr motorized in their rotation. Both ball bearing and casteresigns have been in use for many years. Recentlyesigned car shops utilize a Truck Turntable on each ervice track between Car Hoists. Car Progression Systems may be partially or fully automated with remotely controlled robot arms partiallyenclosed in buried track to move one or more cars.

The load advancing robot arm can contact the car axle, coupler, car end frame, journal box or other pointconsistent to the cars being progressed. A ProgressionSystem can also be used to move trucks (only) to and from a truck repair area.

Whiting Drop Tables are available in capacities to transferny locomotive truck from a service track to a releaseack...quickly and easily. Various types of release track tops re available including tops that raise automatically as therop Table is raised; or fixed tops that can be removed byverhead cranes. All Whiting Drop Table designs are adaptable to your servicequirements. Installations now serve pits from 4 feet to 26et in width; capacities range from 20 to 250 tons.
