Women in Architecture at RISD Department of Architecture Today’s symposium, hosted by the Women in Architecture organization at the Rhode Island School of Design, invites panelists and the public to discuss where women currently stand within the world of architecture. Together we will address how women around the world have had a strong presence within the architectural profession, ultimately forging a path for contemporary female archi- tects. Panelists will engage in discussion ranging from how a female’s role as architect is currently defined within the context of devel- oping countries to how a female architect can command respect within a construction-based industry. Moreover, through the analysis of generation, geography and gender, we will attempt to tell a candid and more comprehen- sive story of female architects.
