This is a fun resource to encourage children to link pictorial fractions with their written form. On each slide is a shape divided into either quarters or thirds. The class should be divided into two teams. A child from Team A comes up to the whiteboard and colours in as much of the shape as they like. A child from Team B then has to write the appropriate fraction for that shape, e.g. 2/3, 1/4. If the child gets it right, they get the point. If they get it wrong, play changes to the other team. It is appropriate for KS1 / lower KS2, but could be adapted for older children.
