The Atholl Country Life Museum’s popular celebration of the Auld New Year is a ceilidh which recalls the traditions of this festival with an evening of Scot-tish music, song and dance until after “the bells”. The supper of homemade soup, oatcakes with cheese and clootie dumpling. Refreshments will be available from the bar. Compere for the even-ing will be Jane Scott with music from the ever popular Foundry Boys supported by several well known local entertainers. From nuclear to coal, hydro to wind, this talk examines the real life issues and methods for determining these ecological impacts, look-ing at how energy developments affect our wildlife and habitats, from otters to ospreys.This is the second fundraising talk that Adrian Davis has given – previously, his Wildcat talk was a hugely popular event, and raised much needed funds for Birnam Arts. Adrian is a wildlife expert and ecologist with a special understanding of animal behaviour, with extensive knowledge of Scottish wildlife. He’s worked on golden eagle, otter and wildcat surveys, and has an amazing bank of knowl-
