Sawgrass Women’s Club
School is back in session but the summer isn’t over just yet at Sawgrass Country Club. Although the Sunday Sundowner will con-clude for the season after September, we will be reintroducing the popular Carving Room on Sunday evenings in October. The Sundae Mondays/$3 Burger Night and the Tuesday Fish Fry will be con-tinuing at the Sandbar on the Pavilion through October. The Fish Fry now features a healthy grilled fish option.
Both Faleesha Kreiger, Membership Marketing Assistant and Benjamin Peck, CFO will be leaving Sawgrass Country Club to accept career advancement opportunities at other Northeast Florida Clubs. Ben has been offered the Assistant General Manager/CFO position at Hammock Dunes Club in Palm Coast, Florida and Faleesha will continue her career in Ponte Vedra Beach as the Membership Director at the Sawgrass Marriott Cabana Club. Both of these employees have made a positive impact to our Club during their tenure. They will both be missed and we wish them well and continued success in their careers.
Developments on Phase II of the Master Facilities Plan will be forthcoming in 2014 and we are excited about the contin-ued progress. We have recruited Cobb Clark Enterprises to work with Sawgrass as our Owners’ Representative and retained Ervin, Lovett and Miller (ELM) as our Architect for the project. Regular updates on the project will be provided on our website at www.sawgrasscountryclub.com.

HOURS OF OPERATION
The club was formed in 1980 by a group of women who wanted to meet their neighbors and make new friends, while learning about and enjoying all that the beautiful north Florida coast has to offer. The purpose of the organization continues to be promotion of social activities for our mem-bers. Meetings are held the second Monday of the month, September through May.
Susan Summers, President - Sawgrass Women’s Club
The replacement of the carpet and new dining furniture at the Golf Club will be installed during the second week of November in addition to our ladies locker room upgrade which is currently under way.
Last month we completed our final aerification of the season and now we will be preparing the West and South Courses for the upcoming tournament season. The East Course is coming along well as we enter the grow-in stage of the renovation project. Now we are hopeful for continued warm weather and moderate precipi-tation for the coming months.
I would also like to personally thank the members who helped us achieve some rather outstanding results in member recruitment this year through their member referrals. You really have made a difference and we believe that Sawgrass membership has become more desirable in 2014 as a result. I hope you will continue to help us attract new members to Sawgrass Country Club.
The beach is beautiful this time of year and lots of activity remains at your club. Please continue to use the club often and thank you for your continued support.
– Barry McDonald

The Ed Seay 37th Annual Men¸’s Member-Guest

Four action packed days await you – complete full flighted golf competition, winners’ awards, great gifts and the opportunity to experience Ponte Vedra Beach in the beautiful Fall season.

AND EVERYTHING IN-BETWEEN 7
September is one of the best times of the year. School is back in session, football season has started, and slowly the tempera-tures are beginning to cool down. In the Golf Shop we are beginning to ramp up for the Women’s and Men’s Member-Guests! The Women will be hosting on October
13 and 14, while the Men’s will be in November 5-8. Both events will be celebrating 40 years of Golf at Sawgrass. Get your disco boots ready as we remember the 70’s!
My advice to you going into the fall season is to “balance” your practice. Try to spend “60” percent of your time on your short game. Stop for a minute and break down your score. Putting, chipping, pitching, sand shots, and others inside 30 yards of the hole, make up at least 60% of your final score. Also, take a thorough look at your wedges. Do you have the right clubs in your bag? If you have questions, please stop by the shop and let us help you. A new “balance” of practice time might just be what your game needed!
