WiththereleaseofournewPD502&PD602portableterminals,youarerequiredtouseCPSv5.06.01.009

programmingsoftware. TomaintaincompatibilitybetweenthedifferentDMRmodelradios,youwillneedtoalso

haveinstalledCPSv5.05.14.002soyoucanprogramthePD7X,MD7X&RD9Xseriesterminalsandrepeaters.

Theissue

arises

when

you

attempt

to

install

a2nd

version

of

CPS,

the

software

will

report

that

you

already

have

CPS

installed.

InordertoinstallmultipleversionsofCPSyouwillneedtouseatoolcalled,MendInstall.Exewhichispackaged

withinthezipfileoftheCPSv5.05.14.002software. ThistooldeletestheWindowsRegistryentriesinyour

computerthattheCPSsoftwaresets,allowingyoutoinstallmultipleversions.

Dontjumpahead,thereismoreyouneedtodofirstinorderforthistoworkproperly.

Hereisastepbystepprocesswhichwillguideyouthroughtheprocess.

1)

CreateafolderonyourdesktopandcallitHytera.

2) Downloadandcopyintothisfolderthefollowingfilesfromourwebsite,orifyouhavethemalreadystored

onyourcomputer,copythemtothisfolder.

3)

IfyouhavenotalreadyinstalledtheHyteraradiodriverforthiscomputer,downloadthatandsaveittothe

sameHyterafolder. Installthedriverandproceedtothenextstep.

4) ProceedtounzipeachofthefilesyouhavedownloadedintotheHyteradirectoryyoucreatedonyour

Desktop.Be

sure

to

un

zip

them

into

their

own

directory

as

shown

below:

NOTE: Afteryouunzipthetwofiles,you

candeletetheremaining.zipfilesasthey

arenolongerneeded.

5) DoubleclicktheDMR_SW_CPS_V5.05.14.002.NA2directory. Ifyoudownloadedthisfromthewebsite,it

maybelistedasWF_DMR_SW_CPS_V5.05.14.002.NA2whichisoneofthesame.

6) DoubleclicktheMendInstall.exefileandfollowalongbelow:

13) Aftersetupcompletes,CPSwillhavebeeninstalledinthefollowingdirectory:

ForWindows7: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Hytera\CustomerProgrammingSoftware

YouwillneedtonavigatetothisdirectoryusingWindowsExplorerandrenamethedirectoryasfollows:

Onceyouhaverenamedthedirectory,theiconthatwascreatedonyourdesktopwillnolongerwork,soyou

willneedtorecreatetheiconinordertolaunchthesoftware.

TorecreatetheiconusingWindows7,useWindowsExplorertonavigatetothedirectoryyoujust

renamed, andlookfor

YouwillneedtoRightClickthisfileandthenclick,CreateShortcut. ClickYestoplacetheshortcuton

thedesktop

instead.

15) Next,gotoyourdesktoponfindtheShortcutIconyoujustcreated.

Note: Youwillnotseethefullnameintheimagebecausewindowsdoesnotdisplaythefullnameuntilyou

singleclicktheicon. Thisonlyhappensifthenamecontainsmorethan16characters.

ForWindowsXPusers,theprocessisthesameexceptthatWindowswillnotoffertocreatetheshortcutonyour

desktop,insteadWindowswillcreatetheshortcutinthesamedirectoryastheCPS.exefileislocatedin.

ContinuewiththeshortcutcreationandthenrenametheshortcutthesameasyouwouldinWindows7. Once

you

have

created

the

shortcut

and

renamed

the

shortcut,

left

click

the

shortcut

you

just

created

and

then

drag

ittotheDesktoporyoucanrightclicktheshortcutandCut&PasteittothedesktoporCopyittothe

Desktop.

17) Beforeproceedingfurther,findyournewlycreatedicononyourdesktopanddoubleclicktheicontoverify

thatCPSrunsandthesplashscreendisplaysthecorrectversionyouhaveinstalled. Thesplashscreenshould

displaythesameversionasthenameoftheiconyoucreatedonthedesktop.

18) YouarenowreadytoinstallthenextversionofCPS. Proceedbacktostep#5andfollowtheinstructions

againforCPSv5.06.01.009orforwhateverotherversionyouareinstalling. Remembertorunthe

MendInstall.exefilepriortoinstallationofthenextCPS.

Theonlychangesyouwillmakefromtheseinstructionsismakingsureyourenamethenewlycreated

directory;CustomerProgrammingSoftware"tothenewversionsuchas,CPSv5.06.01.009.NA2and

makingsurethatyounametheShortcutandthedirectorythesameaswell. Allotherinstructionsarethe

same.
