Letter from Frank Walter, President Westway Machinery

The year 2012 is a special one for Westway Machinery as we proudly celebrate our 40th anniversary. Westway Machinery began serving the Metal manufacturing industry across Canada in 1972, the same year Paul Henderson scored that goal we’ll never forget! Over the last twenty years we have focused on the Metal Forming manufacturing industries. The challenges have been many, including the high double digit interest rates of the early 80’s, recessions, stock market crashes , large exchange rate fluctuations, and most recently the North American banking meltdown in 2008 . As they say “what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger!!”. We have not only sur-vived these challenges, but we have thrived and are now stronger than ever. We are well positioned to offer you some of the best products in their class, along with the expertise and on-going support to make your investments in Metal Forming technology risk- free and productive for years to come. Our founder, Rudy Walter established the Westway core values that still endure today. WPT Power Transmission’s airtubes are manufactured using reinforced neoprene and extruded bladders for maximum life. WPT manufactures all sizes from 4” to 60”. Split airtubes are available in sizes 11” thru 30” to decrease downtime when clutches or brakes are mounted inboard. Qual-ity friction materials provide long life. Center plates, press plates, springs, shims and other parts are readily available.
