Considering Moving to Westchester? Consider Yourself   Lucky. JANUARY 26, 2015 / LEAVE A COMMENT  / EDIT

WHEN PEOPLE THINK OF NEW YORK, their minds immediately

turn to ‘The Big Apple’ (a.k.a., New York City. But the State of New

York is quite a bit more than just this busy, densely populated,

popular tourist area. We’ve all heard that if you can make it there,

you can make it anywhere–so why not make it to a place located

just outside of the hustle and bustle of New York City? I’m referring

to the suburbs that make up Westchester County, New York.

Located in the scenic Hudson Valley region, Westchester County

occupies approximately 450 square miles and possesses just under

100,000 residents. Established in 1683, the county gets its name

from the city of Chester, England. Due mostly to the upper-middle

class development of communities during the late 19th century,

following quick population growth, Westchester became the first

suburban area of its scale in the entire world to develop!

city atmosphere, there’s no better place to live than Westchester.

hour or less away! Unless you’re actually living in the city itself, the

train from Westchester to New York City is the easiest commute
