Considering Moving to Westchester? Consider Yourself Lucky. JANUARY 26, 2015 / LEAVE A COMMENT / EDIT
WHEN PEOPLE THINK OF NEW YORK, their minds immediately
turn to ‘The Big Apple’ (a.k.a., New York City. But the State of New
York is quite a bit more than just this busy, densely populated,
popular tourist area. We’ve all heard that if you can make it there,
you can make it anywhere–so why not make it to a place located
just outside of the hustle and bustle of New York City? I’m referring
to the suburbs that make up Westchester County, New York.
Located in the scenic Hudson Valley region, Westchester County
occupies approximately 450 square miles and possesses just under
100,000 residents. Established in 1683, the county gets its name
from the city of Chester, England. Due mostly to the upper-middle
class development of communities during the late 19th century,
following quick population growth, Westchester became the first
suburban area of its scale in the entire world to develop!

Why Westchester?I KNOW YOU’RE ASKING YOURSELF, what could be more
exciting than New York City? Westchester County’s various towns
act as a popular suburb bordering ‘The Big Apple’, as well as playing
the role of gateway to the Hudson River Valley. If you’re a fan of
New York City, but don’t find yourself wishing to live in the dense
city atmosphere, there’s no better place to live than Westchester.
It’s a short train ride away, and if you’re traveling by car, it’s only an
hour or less away! Unless you’re actually living in the city itself, the
train from Westchester to New York City is the easiest commute
you’ll find. For more on the train commute, you should check
outTheWestchesterView.com‘s blog on the Metro-North commute to
the city. Westchester does not only give you easy-access to the city,
but to the Hudson River Valley as well. This area provides an
enormous variety of outdoor activities and scenic views. To see
