Principal’s Report
2020 budget and class planning
We have recently received our anticipated funding for
2020. This, along with predicted enrolments will
determine the structure of our classes for next year. My
executive team and I are currently working through all
of this to determine staffing and classes for 2020. This
was discussed at the last P&C meeting as there may be
some changes to our staffing & class structures. We
hope to be able to provide our families with staff and
classes before the end of the year to ensure a smooth
transition for our students.
Stage 3 getting excited!
In Week 6 many of our Stage 3 children will be heading
off for their 3 day excursion to Ballarat. As our school
has been on this excursion many times, we know that
they will have a fantastic time – particularly spending a
day at Sovereign Hill. My thanks to Mr Maxwell, Mrs
Bailey and Mrs Makeham, who will be accompanying
the students, for giving up their own family time to
provide this wonderful opportunity. Watch out for some
super photos in the next few weeks! A reminder to
students and parents that our bus departs at 8:00am on
Wednesday 20th November!
Borambola Excursion
Stage 2 students had a fantastic time on their
Borambola excursion. It was certainly an active
experience for all! A big thank you to Mrs Davis, Mrs
New and Mrs Smith for all of their organisation and
giving up their own family time to supervise our
students.
Cyber Safety
It has come to our attention that quite a lot of our
students (even some in Year 2!) are using a variety of
social media sites – YouTube, Musically, Facebook,
TikTok & Snap Chat – to name a few. As teachers we
find it difficult to keep up to date with these sites, as
I’m sure do our families. We are investigating getting a
guest speaker to visit to have a talk to our students on
cyber safety and the dangers these sites pose/ are
posing for our students. I would urge parents to keep a
very close eye on the online activities their children are
accessing. Once we have lined up a speaker, I will also
be inviting our families to come along to hear about
many of the dangers allowing our children to use these
sites can pose. The following site from the Office of the
Children’s eSafety Commissioner is full of lots of great
advice:

Year 7 Transition & Parent
Information Meeting
The last Year 7 Transition to JHS day will be held
Tuesday 3 December at Junee High School,
commencing at 9:00am. Students are to make their own
way to the High School and meet Mrs Commins at the
MPC. Parents are invited to attend the Parent
Information session on this day at 9:00am. This session
will run for about 1 hour, then students will continue
with their transition activities and classes for the rest of
the day.
Lunches
Many students are turning up to school regularly
without food for the day which greatly affects the way
they function and learn for the day. We can cater for
the occasional emergency but it is vital that students
are provided with the right amount of food for the day.
Please assist us with this concern by checking that your
child has packed their food for the day.

Wiradjuri Corroboree
We were lucky to have been invited to the Wiradjuri
Corroboree school dance workshop at the
Marrambidya Wetlands in Wagga Wagga. Local
schools were invited to participate in the workshop in
preparation for the Corroboree the following day.
This was the first known recorded public Corroboree
held in Wagga Wagga, Wiradjuri County, since 1868.
This was such a rich experience for our students as we
danced in the dirt, experiencing such a connection to
country. – Mrs Makeham
