Woodcraft Folk is a children and
young people’s organisation working
across the UK. Every week
thousands of volunteers and young
people meet in school halls,
community venues and a host of
other places to learn about big ideas
through fun activities like singing,
playing and debating.
Woodcraft Folk groups are open to
anyone from the age of 6 upwards
who wants to join. We are secular,
co-educational and committed to
positive social change.
hildreenWho are we?
Because we have really strong principles that we live out in our everyday lives as well as in our Woodcraft activities. We believe in peace, sustainability, social justice, friendship, children’s rights and co-operation.
Because we believe that all young people are valuable and important - they have something to offer each other and society. We ensure they can have their say in running the organisation.
Because it’s fun for everyone! And when you join Woodcraft Folk, you’ll have a ready-made network of friendly support.
Because everything in Woodcraft Folk is about teamwork and co-operation. From cooking and washing-up at camps to planning and running weekly activities, noone is on their own.

If you’re aged 16-20 and you’d like to take part in camps, walking trips, fierce debates, volunteering with young people, epic gigs and a whole range of other activities then drop by our website, give our national office a ring or best of all go to www.spanthatworld.com where you’ll find all you need to know about our groundbreaking movement for people your age.

It depends on what you want to do, or how much time you have. If you’re looking for a nearby group then drop by the website (www.woodcraft.org.uk) or give our national office a ring (020 7703 4173) – they’ll tell you how to join a group near your home or about the information and support available to start a new one.
If you’d like to help out at a group, then drop by the website or call our national office (are you spotting a pattern here?). They’ll talk you through what you need to do to become a volunteer with us. It’s a really straightforward process that shouldn’t take more than a couple of weeks.
