Welcome to the La Crosse Area Family YMCA. The Y’s Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Y’s Cause: At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity o learn, grow and thrive. The La Crosse Y, founded in 1883, is one of our area’s leading 501(c)3 not-for-profits, committeed to strengtheing our community in the areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsbility.

The Y has two membership branches: The Y La Crosse located at 1140 Main Street in La Crosse and the Y North located at 400 Mason Street in Onalaska as well as operating seventeen childcare and/or school age care sites throughout our area.

Nearly 30,000 people of all ages, incomes, backgrounds and abilities are aserved by the Y annually through memberships, programs and activities. Financial assistance is avilable for all Y memberships and programs.

What type of business or organization can particicpate in the Workplace Wellness Membership?We encourage small local businesses, large corporations, healthcare facilities, school districts and many other organizations to participate and promote a healthier lifestyle to their employees.

The Workplace Wellness Membership is not offered to members of clubs, neighborhood associations or parishes.

HOW TO GET STARTEd?

• Contact the YMCA at 608-782-9622 to discuss the options.

• Determine your level of participation in the Workplace Wellness Membership Program. (If the business invests $10 monthly per employee, the Y will invest $5 monthly per employee, for example).

• Promote the program to your employees (The Y can help!).

• Determine additional ways for your business and your employees to get involved at the Y to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle.

In our ongoing commitment to strengthen the foundations of community, the YMCA has led the way in promoting and improving the health of Coulee Region residents. With versatile programming options, trained staff and state-of-the-art YMCA facilities, the Y has a broad reach in our community. As a leader in employee wellness for businesses seeking to improve their employees’ individual and family health, the Y continuously seeks opportunities to expand and improve our service to the communities we serve.

Today, approximately seventy-five percent of employer health care spending can be attributed to preventable illness. The Y has been actively engaged in working with our business neighbors of every size to help business leaders and owners find solutions to control the rising costs of health care. As we search together for ideas/solutions that provide for a healthier employee workforce, the Y is pleased to offer an employee wellness initiative.

The Y plan encourages local employers to consider a monthly/annual investment in their employees Y membership as a vehicle toward improving employee health and well-being.

Through our two area facilities, employees will enjoy easy access to a full range of health and wellness programs, state of the art fitness facilities, and a wide variety of volunteer and networking opportunities.

WORKSITE WELLNESS MEMBERSHIP PLAN• The La Crosse Area Family YMCA will provide a 50%

match (up to a maximum of $10 per month) to any employer membership subsidy.

• The minimum contributed subsidy from an employer must not be less than $5.00 per month (The Y 50% match at this level would be $2.50 per month.)

• The Y will waive the joining fee for all employees from the participating company.

• The Y will provide participating employees a complimentary 1 week trial membership to the Y.

• The Y will provide employees one annual complimentary service such as a “lunch & learn” at the employer worksite on a health / wellbeing topic of interest to the employee group.

• The Y will provide, upon request, monthly tracking of employee usage.

Other options for participation:• Provide direct reimbursement

to employees

• Participate in the Y’s Pioneering Healthier Communities Iniatitive though our Workplace Wellness Award Program offered annually March-April.

• Contract with the Y to offer on-site Group Exercises

• Allow the Y to promote our services to employees
