Welcome to the ASDI Web Ordering System

Instructional Manual

This document is intended to provide an overview of the system developed to facilitate the ordering and transfer of materials from the ASDI compound collections. Please feel free to review and test the searching capabilities for each collection. Any questions related to the use of the system may be directed to the following customer service representatives:

System access :

http://orders.asdi.net

Username and temporary

password are generated and

distributed by an ASDI system

administrator.

1.Upon receiving your username

and temporary password, enter the

information into the appropriate

fields.

2.Please note that there will be a

short delay at the initial start up for

a new user.

3.The ability to change your

temporary password is done within

the user preferences section.

Search Results based upon Criteria Entered are Displayed

From the options available within the Workbook menu, individual, group, or entire results may be selected for creation of online workbook, downloaded in various formats or added to cart for order placement.

If results require additional modification the current search may be altered or a new search began by selecting the appropriate option from the menu.

Vial Type and Amount

A large selection of

destination containers

are available to meet a

wide assortment of

applications.

Stoichiometric weighing

services can be

expressed in either mgs

or µMs.

Upon selection of “Add

Selected to Cart”, choose

the appropriate vial and

quantity based either

upon the number of

milligrams or

micromoles. The amount

is applied to all

compounds being added

to the cart.

Variable Amounts

Alternatively, the “Use Variable

Amounts” option can be

selected, and the user can

supply an amount for each

compound being added to the

cart. The number of expected

amounts will be displayed

under the input box. Note that

these amounts should be in the

same order as the selected

compounds. This feature is

generally more useful when

performing a search by catalog

number and the user has

dropped in a list of compounds.

Within the ordering

system it is possible to

order an amount of

material replicated over a

number of vials. It is also

possible to change the

quantity or units prior to

placing the order. If

insufficient quantity is

available the item will be

marked to be removed. If

the material is needed at

a lesser quantity the

“Remove?” box may be

cleared and the quantity

requested adjusted. Upon

alteration of the amount

please recalculate to

confirm enough

compound is still

available.

An item can be duplicated by pressing the “duplicate” button on the right side of

the item. Afterward, the amount can be adjusted for the new item. This is useful

for adding differing amounts of the same compound to an order.


Prior to order

placement, the request

may be reviewed. It is

possible to save the

order as a quote or

simply clear the cart and

begin the search again.

Note: Use of the “back”

button may result in a

duplication of the order.

If acceptable, click

“Place Order”

Order Summary and Placement

It is important to review the shipping

instructions prior to order placement. If

the shipping address needs to be

modified press “Change Shipping

Address”.

The order will not be complete until

“Complete Order” has been selected.


Shipping: Three possible selections

Fedex via ASDI is the default shipping option.

Compounds will be shipped under ASDI’s account

and charges will be passed to customer.

Fedex using my own account is useful for

customers who already have a Fedex Shipper ID.

Shipping charges will be billed under the

customer’s account, but handling charges still

apply. A valid Shipper ID must be entered before

the order can be completed.

In the two situations above, a range of shipping services from Priority, Ground, or

International can be selected (depending on the shipping address).

Other arrangements will be made should be chosen

if the customer prefers another shipping method such

as UPS or DHL. Usually a note of which carrier to

use should be included in the comments section of the

order, or the customer’s P.O.


Shipping Errors

If there is an error in the customer’s shipping address, the order

cannot be placed. The error will be displayed in the field where the

shipping and handling estimate is normally shown.

Copy/Paste a list of catalog or compound numbers into the available field.

Depending upon the type of number used, select from either “ASDI Cat Number”, “ACD Number” or “CAS Number”.

When performing a search by catalog

number, it is possible for items to be

invalid or not found. If this occurs, a

separate window will pop up to

notify the user which items were

invalid. Ensure that pop-ups are

enabled in your web browser for

http://orders.asdi.net/

It is also possible that when pasting

in a list of catalog numbers, one or

more may be duplicated. If this

happens, a similar window will

pop-up to notify the user which

items were duplicated and how

many times.

Search Pre-Packaged Compounds

Searches for PrePak Compounds are identical to searches for custom weighed compounds.

Both can be searched by structure or by catalog number.


Available Amount - PrePack

Selecting the amount for

PrePack compounds is

similar to custom weighed

compounds. Next to each

compound, available

packs are displayed as

well as a drop down menu

to make a selection for the

pack size. Hovering the

mouse over a compound

displays how many grams

are left in stock. Once a

pack size is selected, the

number of vials can be

changed per pack (5 vials

of a 10g pack = 50g total).

The duplicate button

works exactly the same

way for PrePak as it does

for custom weighed

compounds.


Available Amount - PrePack

If the “Use Variable Quantities” button

is clicked, a window will pop up like

the one to the left. Here a user can

enter a separate pack size for each

compound. If a pack size for a

particular compound is invalid, another

window will pop up (like the one on

the right) displaying which one(s) were

invalid and a list of the valid amounts.

The “Set all Quantities” feature works in

the same way as variable quantities, but

all compounds will be set to one chosen

pack size (if that size is available for the

compound).



To begin a High Throughput

select “High Throughput Screening”

High Throughput Screening

Searching and adding HTS compounds to the shopping cart is done exactly the

same way as custom weighed compounds and PrePack compounds.

For HTS Compounds, there is no vial selection; only an amount can be chosen.

The “Use Variable Amounts” feature also works in the same way.


Store and Review “My Workbooks”

Within the online ordering

system it is also possible to

save search results within an

online workbook.

This is done by selecting the

items of interest from the

search and “Save Selected

as Online Workbook”. This

will allow the user to return to

a set of search results at a

later time. This data will not

be lost upon exiting the

website.

In the pop-up window,

name the online workbook

and click “OK”

Workbooks can be recalled

for review and order

placement by selecting “My

Workbooks” from the tab

selections.

Specific workbooks are then

displayed upon selection of

workbook name.

The saved workbook

will appear.

Saved workbooks can

also be viewed from

the Home Page.

If compounds are

selected for

acquisition follow the

procedures as

outlined.

Within the online

ordering system it is

also possible to save

and search the

corresponding quote

within the “My Quote”

option.

This is done by

selecting “Save as

Quote”. This will allow

the user to return to a

specific quote and place

the order at a later time.

This data will not be lost

upon exiting the

website.

In the identifier box, name

the quote, then select

“Complete Quote”. This will

not place an order but will

store the information for later

review and order placement.

A country and zip code can

also be entered to get an

approximate shipping amount

for the quote.

The quote has been

saved and an order

number is generated to

reference the quote.

Select “Return to Main

Menu” to retrieve quote.

Note: The confirmation

email will be sent to the

address listed within the

user preferences.

By selecting “My Quotations”

from the main menu screen,

all saved quotes will be

displayed. Select Order

Number to view saved quote.

Clicking the print button

brings up a separate window

that has a printable quote.

Note that all quotes

automatically expire after 30

days.


Retrieving Quotes – Review Quote

Before a quote is

converted to an order,

it can be reviewed.

Clicking on the

catalog number

brings up a window

containing the

structure, and

individual items can

be removed from the

quote. Once a user is

satisfied with the

quote, clicking

continue will navigate

to the final page.

At this stage,

converting the quote

to an order is exactly

like placing a regular

order.


Viewing Order History

To view order history,

select “My Orders” from

the main menu tab

selections.

Select order number to

reorder the item and

follow the steps as

outlined previously to

place the order.

Note that orders marked

in red were cancelled.

Within the online ordering

system it is possible to

download Custom

Weighed Compounds,

Pre-Packaged

Compounds or High

Throughput Screening

databases directly.

To view available

downloads, select “My

Downloads” from the

available tabs on the main

menu screen.

Choose the database of

interest and select

“Download”. The

information will be

downloaded as a local

ISIS database.


User Preference Updating

Within the online ordering system it is

possible to change or update user

preferences.

To change your personal preferences,

select “My Preference” from the

available tabs on the main menu

screen.

On this page it is possible to select a

separate field to change the

password and/or update shipping

information.

NOTE: “SAVE CHANGES” PRIOR

TO LEAVING THIS SCREEN TO

CAPTURE UPDATES.

On this page it is possible to:

1. Add or Delete an address

2. Edit a specific address

3. Select a default address

Return to preferences and be sure to

save changes to capture any updates.
