PRAYERS OF PENITENCE Celebrant We have too often exchanged the worship of the living

God for idols of our own imagining.

This is the word of the Lord. All Thanks be to God

Second Reading Romans 5:1-5

This is the word of the Lord. All Thanks be to GodHymn

Lead us, heavenly Father, lead uso’er the world’s tempestuous sea;guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,for we have no help but thee;yet possessing every blessing,if our God our Father be.

Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us:all our weakness thou dost know;thou didst tread this earth before us,thou didst feel its keenest woe;lone and dreary, faint and weary, through the desert thou didst go.

Spirit of our God, descending, fill our hearts with heavenly joy, love with every passion blending, pleasure that can never cloy:thus provided, pardoned, guided, nothing can our peace destroy.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Remain standing and turn to face the Gospel:

from every tribe and language, from every people and nation.

Peace from his Son Jesus Christ who is our peace.Peace from the Holy Spirit, the life-giver.

The peace of the triune God be always with you

All And also with you.

Let us offer one another a sign of peace.

As the Body of Christ receives its life from God, and offers its life to God, so we, as members of that Body, greet each other in love.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

The Preparation of the TableThe Taking of the Bread and Wine

I bind unto myself todaythe strong name of the Trinity,by invocation of the same, the three in one, and one in three.

I bind this day to me for ever,by power of faith, Christ’s Incarnation, his baptism in the Jordan river, his death on cross for my salvation:his bursting from the spiced tomb, his riding up the heavenly way,his coming at the day of doom,I bind unto myself today.

I bind unto myself todaythe virtues of the star-lit heaven, the glorious sun’s life-giving ray,the whiteness of the moon at even, the flashing of the lightning free, the whirling winds’ tempestuous shocks, the stable earth, the deep salt seaaround the old eternal rocks.

I bind unto myself todaythe power of God to hold and lead, his eye to watch, his might to stay, his ear to hearken to my need;the wisdom of my God to teach, his hand to guide, his shield to ward, the word of God to give me speech,

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

his heavenly host to be my guard.

I bind unto myself the name, the strong name of the Trinity,by invocation of the same, the three in one, and one in three,of whom all nature hath creation, eternal Father, Spirit, Word.Praise to the Lord of my salvation:salvation is of Christ the Lord. Amen

Celebrant Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation; through your goodness we have this bread and wine to offer which the earth has given and human hands have made. They will become for us the bread of life and cup of salvation.

All Blessed be God for ever.

We sit or stand for:The Eucharistic Prayer

The Lord is hereAll His Spirit is with us.

Lift up your hearts.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

All We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.All It is right to give thanks and praise.

Celebrant It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, always and everywhere to give you thanks, holy Father, almighty and eternal God. For with your only-begotten Son and the Holy Spirit you are one God, one Lord. All that you reveal of your glory, the same we believe of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, without any difference or inequality.

We, your holy Church, acclaim you, Father of majesty unbounded, your true and only Son, worthy of all worship, and the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide.Three Persons we adore, one in being and equal in majesty. And so with angels and archangels, with cherubim and seraphim, we sing for ever of your glory:

(Gathering Mass © Paul Inwood/OCP) Holy, holy, holy Lord. God of pow'r and God of might. Heaven and earth, heaven and earth, are full of your glory, your power and might.

All: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest heav'ns!Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest heav'ns!Blessed, blessed is he who comes. Blessed, blessed is he who comes.Blessed is he, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

All: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest heav'ns!Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest heav'ns!

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Lord, you are holy indeed, the source of all holiness; grant that by the power of your Holy Spirit, and according to your holy will, these gifts of bread and wine may be to us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ; who, in the same night that he was betrayed, took bread and gave you thanks; he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.In the same way, after supper he took the cup and gave you thanks; he gave it to them, saying: Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

Great is the mystery of Faith:All Christ has died

Christ is risenChrist will come again

And so, Father, calling to mind his death on the cross, his perfect sacrifice made once for the sins of the whole world; rejoicing in his mighty resurrection and glorious ascension, and looking for his coming in glory, we celebrate this memorial of our redemption. As we offer you this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, we bring before you this bread and this cup and we thank you for counting us worthy to stand in your presence and serve you.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Send the Holy Spirit on your people and gather into one in your kingdom all who share this one bread and one cup, so that we, in the company of St Margaret and all the saints, may praise and glorify you forever, through Jesus Christ our Lord;by whom, and with whom, and in whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory be yours, almighty Father, forever and ever. Amen.

The Lord’s PrayerAll Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done,on earth as in heaven.Give us today our daily bread.Forgive us our sins,as we forgive those who sin against us.Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The Breaking of the BreadThe Priest breaks the consecrated bread

We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. All Though we are many, we are one body,

because we all share in one bread.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

The Giving of Communion

Celebrant Draw near with faith. Receive the body of our Lord Jesus Christ which he gave for you, and his blood which he shed for you. Eat and drink in remembrance that he died for you, and feed on him in your hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

We sing the Agnus Dei.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: grant us peace.

All are welcome to either come and receive Communion or a blessing. If you would like a blessing rather than to receive Communion (the bread and

wine) then please keep hold of your service sheet as you approach the servers at front of the church.

Laying on of hands for healing is offered in the south aisle chapel during the distribution of communion. This ministry is offered for your own

needs or for someone who maybe on your heart and mind at this time.

Those who are going into hospital in the coming week, or for some other reason, and who would like to be anointed with oil of healing and prayed for by a priest please do have a word with a priest after the service – they

will gladly offer you this ministry.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)
