Welcome to Riverdale
On behalf of the City Council and the City Staff, I extend to you a warm welcome! We
hope your life here in our city will be a very pleasant and satisfying one and we want to
help you feel that you are a part of this wonderful community.
Riverdale has approximately 8,500 residents; our citizens take pride in their city and pull
together for the good of their neighborhoods. Riverdale’s residential areas are uniquely
situated just a few minutes from the busy shopping district along Riverdale Road, which
is home to over 300 business owners. It is all of us, collectively, that make up this great
community.
My vision as Mayor is to make Riverdale the city of choice to live, work, shop and play
today and for the future. Riverdale’s staff is committed to providing the highest possible
level of municipal services to the Riverdale community and to be fiscally responsible.
We want to do everything we can to make living here the best possible experience for
you.
Riverdale has a proud heritage and an exciting future with many recreational choices
including one of the most scenic river trails in the state where residents and visitors can
enjoy pristine wooded areas and dozens of beautiful vistas. Our parks, trails, Community
Center and Senior Center have exercise facilities and activities for children and adults to
walk, run, bike, wade, tube, fish and observe wildlife in its natural habitat.
We want you to be involved and active in our community and encourage you to attend
our Council and Planning Commission meetings at the Civic Center on Tuesday nights.
You can also stay informed about city events and activities by visiting our city website
and Facebook page and reading the monthly newsletter included with your city utility
bill. Your elected representatives have their phone numbers listed on the newsletter and
website so that you can contact them if you have ideas or concerns. Please let us know
how we can make your life more enjoyable as we welcome you to Riverdale City!
