Assessments• We will have three common
assessment cycles this year. • Assessments will be in reading, writing,
math and science.• Math and science are summative
assessments.
Computer Usage• We will use computers in many ways
this year.
• Reading Counts, Riverdeep, various websites that correlate with our academics.
Homework folders are sent home daily. Please check homework daily for understanding. Homework folders are due back daily. Being responsible with homework is an important skill that should be learned
early. Please check and sign your child’s planner nightly. Graded class work and homework will be sent home in the “keep me” pocket.
Please be sure to take these papers out. There is not enough room in the folder to store them.
Homework should serve as a review of material learned in class. It should reflect the child’s work with minimal parental help. It is acceptable for parent’s to review their child’s homework and give some feedback.

Discipline PlanIndividual: Number moves up or down based on choices throughout the day. Behavior
grade then goes into agenda. * If student ends day with a behavior grade of “U”, they must fill out “What I will stop doing, what I will start doing paper” and have it signed by parent. Student fills out own behavior grade in agenda if on E,V or S. If on N or U, Mrs. Shultz will fill out and explain why on and N or U.
Earn compliment cards for treasure chest. Compliment cards are given when the student exceeds expectations and sets a good example for the rest of the class.
Group: Marbles (every time we get a compliment while walking in the hall or
working together as a class) we cross a number off of our hundreds chart… we earn a celebration when we get 10 numbers in a row.
Team Tallies: Team with most tallies at the end of the week gets to eat lunch with Mrs. Shultz on Thursday.
Sent home 3 times a school year:
