Psalm 89:1-4, 19-26

First Reading: 2 Samuel 7:1-11,16 Printed on last page)

Word

Your love, O Lord, forever will I sing; from age to age my mouth will proclaim your faithfulness. For I am persuaded that your steadfast love is established forever; you have set your faithfulness firmly in the heavens. “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn an oath to David my servant: You spoke once in a vision and said to your faithful people: “I have set the crown upon a warrior and have exalted one chosen out of the people. I have found David my servant; With my holy oil I have anointed him. My hand will hold him fast and my arm will make him strong. No enemy shall deceive him, nor shall the wicked bring him down. I will crush his foes before him and strike down those who hate him. My faithfulness and steadfast love are with him, and he shall be victorious through my name.. I will set his hand on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers. He will say to me, ‘You are my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in

Jesus Christ, God’s only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the power of

the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was

crucified, died and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day

he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the

Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the

Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the

forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen

*Apostle's Creed

Pastor: The light shines in the darkness

All: and the darkness has not overcome it.

The Annunciation

Leader: An angel went from God to a town called Nazareth to a woman

whose name was Mary. The angel said to her, “Rejoice, O highly fa-

vored, for God is with you. You shall bear a child, and his name shall be

Jesus, the Chosen One of God Most High.” And Mary said, “I am the

servant of my God, I live to do your will.”
