Owner/artist Karen Brzys has one-of-a-kind agate items for sale in the museum. Located on Brazel Street across from the Recreation Center. Open daily in the summer. A small admission fee is charged. The Lightkeeper’s House Museum This restored residence is operated by the Grand Marais Historical Society. Open 1-4 pm daily during July and August, and open weekends in June and September. Located at the end of Coast Guard Point. Donations accepted. The Old Post Office Museum Our newest museum tells the story of Grand Marais, from its earliest days to the present. On display are many photos and artifacts from the past. Located on the main street. Open 1-4pm daily during July and August, and on weekends during June and September. Don’t miss the memorial rose garden overlooking the harbor! Donations accepted. The Pickle Barrel House Museum This local landmark was the summer home of author/illustrator Wil- liam Donahey, creator of the famous “Teenie Weenie” characters. The museum, restored to its original condi- tion as a summer home, is located on the main street. Open 1-4 pm daily during July and August, and on weekends during June and September. Unique gifts for sale inside. Be sure to tour the Pickle Barrel Historic Iris Garden! Donations accepted. Promenade Through the Past Walking/Biking Tour Discover the boom years of Grand Marais on this 25-stop self-guided tour. Guidebooks are available at local businesses and at several of the museums listed above. Total tour length is approximately 2.7 miles and is a great distance for walking or biking.
