As you enter the national monument area, you will come to the bridge that leads you into the heart of the Fort…

As you step inside the Fort, you see the “Gun of Last Resort” If an enemy was able to breach the Fort’s defenses, this is fearsome sight that would await them.

Behind the gun is the “Adjutant's Daughter”- Also known as the whipping post.

The Central Courtyard and Parade Grounds were used to train troops to march, be disciplined, and have roll call.
