Suggested books for Further Reading:

The Prophets, Abraham Heschel. Book devoted to the Old Testament prophets, and how their vocation was to display God’s heart and voice for the voice-less.

The Prophetic Imagination, Walter Brugemann. This book enlightens on how prophecy is foremost speaking truth at any cost and traces how Israel strug-gled with the vocation throughout her history starting with Moses, through monarchy, and exile.

A Fellowship of Different, Scot McKnight. What is the church supposed to be? If the church is what it is supposed to be, what does Christian life look like?” McKnight answers these questions looking at Paul’s ministry of reconciliation between Jews and Gentile into a fellowship of different.

Endangered Gospel, John Nugent. Has the gospel become endangered as the church tries to fix the world which it wasn’t called or capable of fixing?

The Hole in Our Gospel, Richard Stearns. The president of World Vision writes this book asking the question is there more to the gospel than Sunday ser-vices, studying the Bible and prayer? What might our gospel lack and what are the implications for Christian life?
