Extra Help
• Once a week after school depending upon my schedule
• I am also available by appointment during periods 1, 2, and 9 or before school.
Grading Policy - Each Quarter
• Tests – 50%• Quizzes, Binder – 25%• Homework –10%• Participation – 15%
State Testing• Your child will take the Common
Core Algebra Regents in June 2015.
MCCSD Attendance Policy for Regents
classes• Period 4 & 7 Class - If a student is
absent 41 or more days from class, he/she will be denied credit and will have to repeat Algebra.
• Period 3 Class ONLY - If a student is absent 35 or more days from class, he/she will be denied credit and will have to repeat Algebra.
Homework
• Homework is assigned daily, even Fridays!
• Students should be spending approximately 25 minutes a night on math homework.
• Students will receive either full credit, ½ credit, or no credit for homework each night.
• A student must attempt to do all the homework problems to get 100%.
Homework
• If a student did not do the homework, but completes it within 24 hours of the day it is due, the student will get 50%. The student is responsible for showing the teacher the completed assignment.
Parent Homework
• Thank you for taking the time to tell me about your child.
• If you did not tell me about your child “in a million words or less”, you can grab a letter on the way out.
Binders• Your child’s binder helps organize all
handouts, tests, quizzes, etc. by being assigned designated sections/pages.
• Regardless of the grade earned, everything gets signed. You should be signing grades about every 2 weeks.
• Your child’s binder gets graded at the end of every quarter and counts as a quiz grade.
• I try my best to update the information in the parent portal on a weekly basis.
