I doubt that chocolate bunnies and Cadbury eggs are what he intended for this monumental event in human history. Does he remember the open rejection of the Israelites who loved him one moment and who would not support him when he was taken? Does he recall the moments leading up to the cross as his closest friends betrayed, denied, or ran away? Does he remember the look on Peter’s face as they led him into court? Does his memory of the scourging and the humiliation of the soldiers mocking him cross his mind? Does he consider the faces of disappointment and disgust as he carried the cross to the place of his death? Could he read their minds as they told themselves that this could not be the Messiah? Does he hear the sound of the spikes piercing his hands and feet? Does he recall the smell of death that this place undoubtedly provided? Does he think about the six hours he struggled to lift himself up just to breathe? Does he see the face of Mary in the final moments of his life? I wonder how Jesus thinks about those who still do not respect this moment? I believe he sees past all of the obstacles and unpleasant memories, because the value of our salvation and the story of redemption is greater than the price he paid at the cross. No, Jesus remembers Easter in the moments after the resurrection when his disciples realized for the first time that he had conquered death. Christ is Risen! Senior Recognition Sunday and Family Day MAY 7, 2017

In order to alleviate parking issues and the concerns of

overcrowding in the fellowship hall during worship, we

will not have our traditional "One Worship"

service in the Fellowship Hall. On May 7, both our

regularly scheduled early and late services will be

bilingual and both held in the Auditorium. After the

8:15 1st service, we will honor our graduating Seniors

at 9:30 in the auditorium followed by a period of

singing. Then we will have 2nd Service at

10:30. Those who attend 1st service will be dismissed

to go to the fellowship hall to see the graduates’ display

tables. The fellowship meal will begin shortly before

2nd service ends. After 2nd service, those in attendance

will proceed to the fellowship hall for the pot-luck

meal. There will be family activities and a bouncy

house for the kids concluding around 2:00 p.m. Due to

the extended day activities, there will be no 6:00

p.m. service.

High School Graduates Please turn in the names of all Rural Hill members

who are graduating high school this year so they can

be recognized at our senior recognition day May 7. See front page for the schedule of services that day.

Participating graduates must be members of Rural Hill or they must be immediate family of Rural Hill Members. Please fill out the form at the Welcome Center and submit

a Senior photo by April 30. We would like each Senior to decorate a table in the fellowship hall. Table cloths will be provided. Please display photos, awards, and trophies honoring your son or daughter. All tables must be set up before 1st Service on May 7. Submit 5-10 various photos for a slideshow presentation. Submit photos from different times in your graduate’s life from the time they were babies to current. You may also submit short video clips. Please email these photos or videos to [email protected]. You can also share it on "Drive" or "Dropbox," or you can provide a "USB drive."

College Graduates

If you have a Rural Hill Member who is graduating

college this spring, please send us their information so

we can have it for our bulletin.

5th Sunday Service Night

April 30 Plan to participate in our 5th Sunday service projects. Life

Group leaders will be coordinating projects in various locations. If you are not part of a Life Group, you can be at the building at
