WE INVITE YOU TO REDISCOVER THE MET’S GLOBAL ART HISTORY THROUGH A CONTEMPORARY LENS WITH IN-DEPTH GALLERY TALKS FROM OVER 100 CURATORS, CONSERVATORS, DOCENTS, EDUCATORS, AND ARTISTS.
ENGAGE IN CONVERSATIONS THAT WILL EXAMINE HOW THE OBJECTS OF OUR GALLERIES CONTAIN RELEVANCE AND DRAW COMPARISON TO OUR WORLD TODAY.
BRANDON PATRICK GEORGEBrandon Patrick George is the flutist of the Grammy®-nominated Imani Winds, and has performed with many of the world’s leading ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). He has appeared at Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and is a frequent recital artist at Bargemusic in New York. An avid chamber musician, Brandon has collaborated with members of the New York Philharmonic, the Jasper String Quartet, and has performed live on New York's WQXR with harpist Bridget Kibbey. Brandon is a graduate of Oberlin, and received the Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music.

PERFORMERS
ETHEL & FRIENDSEstablished in New York City in 1998, ETHEL quickly earned a reputation as one of America’s most adventurous string quartets. Described as “indefatigable and eclectic” (The New York Times), and “vital and brilliant” (The New Yorker), the band continues to set the standard for contemporary concert music, ETHEL has released ten feature recordings, performed as guests on 35+ albums, won a GRAMMY® with jazz legend Kurt Elling, performed in 14 countries, 45 states, and 250 cities, and, since 2005, premiered nearly 200 works.

IT’S SHOWTIME NYC!Discover the parallels between hip-hop dance culture and the bygone age of chivalry in this series of thrilling battles featuring dances from It's Showtime NYC! of the urban dance organization Dancing in the Streets of the South Bronx.
It's Showtime NYC! is a program of Dancing in the Streets, developed in partnership with the Mark Morris Dance Center, with funding from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the Mertz Gilmore Foundation and the Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation.

Equal parts theatre, movement performance and drawing-marathon, visual artist Peter Hristoff (artist in residence at
The Met, 2015-16) creates energetic drawing sessions using multiple models and hand-made props to present dramatic tableau-vivants as observational subject matter. Participants are encouraged to draw quickly and fearlessly, with expressive line as the focus of the session.

Inspired by stained glass windows in the Museum's collection, Artist and Museum Educator Barbara Woods will explore the expressive possibilities of color and light by overlapping shapes to create embellishments for windows at home.
