Go, and From Now On Do Not Sin Any More – Jesus encounter with the woman in today’s Gospel may be one of the most beautiful presented in the Scriptures. Jesus saves the woman from near certain death as the scribes and Pharisees are ready to stone her on ac-count of her sins. Jesus stops them in their

tracks as he says, “let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” More importantly, he works to transform her heart and her life through his words and actions of forgiveness, not condemnation. How encour-aging it is to hear Jesus say, “neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.” Those words are not meant only for that woman, but also for us. We hear Jesus speak those words in prayer as we turn to him for strength when we know we’ve done wrong. We also hear those words from the priest in Confession as our sins are forgiven and we are sent forth, “the Lord has freed you from your sins. Go in peace!” As we are restored to union with God in Reconcilia-tion, and strengthened in the unity as we deepen our relation-ship with him, our unity with our sisters and brothers in the Body of Christ is also renewed. This unity can only serve us well as we journey together On Mission for The Church Alive! May we be inspired not to build each other up as we build up our Church. Both St. Cecilia and Ss Peter and Paul will host Fish Fries during Lent. Cecilia hours are 11-7 and Peter and Paul’s hours are 3-7. Both offer a delicious meal to satisfy your Lenten fast. Come and enjoy good food and good company, and help support your Church. Take out is available at both locations. Hope to see you there!!

Confessing our sins is not going to a psychiatrist, or to a torture chamber: it’s saying to the Lord, 'Lord, I am a sinner.'" - Pope Francis

This Lent on the evening of Wednesday, April 10, rediscover the healing power of God's love in the Sacrament of Reconciliation at Catholic parishes throughout the Diocese of Pittsburgh. If you've been away for a long time, don't worry. The Light Is On For You! Holy Family will be open from 6-9. Please tell those who may have fallen away from the church this opportunity to attend confession is available to them. It doesn’t matter how long since your last confession.

Dear Parishioners, All the information for Holy Week and Easter is in the bulletin. Please don’t forget “The Light is on for You” this Wednesday, April 10, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at all four churches. Since we are having a unified celebration of Holy Thursday’s Mass of the Lord’s Supper, all the Liturgical Ministries are being divided by folks from each Parish: serv-ers, choir, readers, Eucharistic ministers, foot washing volun-teers, etc. are all joining together. Similarly, for Confirma-tion on Monday, April 29, choirs and volunteers will be coming together for that liturgy, too.

One thing I messed up on the Holy Week Schedule was the Blessing of the Easter Foods on Holy Saturday. This will happen. I just don’t have the logistics figured out yet, but it will happen. Watch the bulletin next week, please.

A great way to mark the beginning of Holy Week will be a concert by the Beaver Valley Choral Society hosted by Saints Peter and Paul on Sunday, April 13, at 5:00 p.m. There will be a “Church Walk” after the 7:00 p.m. Mass on Holy Thursday, April 18. The bus will be parked in the Saints Peter and Paul parking lot and will load immediately following the mass. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the church. It is very important that you sign-up so that we know how many buses we will need. I am happy to announce that Bruce Whipple, our Facilities Manager, has started to work for us. It’s still un-clear where his base will be but in the interim leave mes-sages at any parish office. Welcome aboard!

God Bless, Fr. Bob
