• Based in San Diego, CA• Grant-funded program since 2006• Goals:
• Increase students’ awareness of healthcare careers
• Improve proficiency in science• Strengthen transitions to post-secondary

Why HASPI?• Lack of career awareness • Limited availability of science prerequisite
courses (Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology)
• High attrition rates in prerequisite courses• Waiting lists/selection criteria/TEAS• High attrition rates in licensure/training
programs• Workforce retention
The VisionStudents that complete the HASPI Health Career Pathway
course sequence will be prepared to pursue ANY health training program of their choice,
from technician to physician.
HASPI preparation is intended for students of ALL academic levels and backgrounds
