CHILDREN’S MOMENT

WESLEY COVENANT PRAYER MODERN

I am not my own self-made, self-reliant human being.

In truth, O God, I am Yours.

Make me into what You will.

Make me a neighbor with those whom You will.

Guide me on the easy path for You.

Guide me on the rocky road for You.

Whether I am to step up for You or step aside for You;

Whether I am to be lifted high for You or brought low for You;

Whether I become full or empty, with all things or with nothing;

I give all that I have and all that I am for You.

So be it.

And may I always remember that you, O God, and I belong to each other. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

This month’s Mission of the Month is Team Fees. Help church members serve in missions around the world. This year we have a team going to the Congo DRC

to finish building a children’s home and we need extra help.

A Note from Max Kern -

Greetings,

Join our mission team to Kanyaka, Democratic Republic of the Congo!

1. Help build a Children's Home for Child Action Initiative (CAI)

2. We leave from Greensboro on June 24 and return on July 7 3. The total team fee is $3,000 4. The deadline for application and $750 deposit is March 1, 2020 5. The team fee balance will be due no later than May 3, 2020

We need a team of at least 10 to get group airline tickets. Without the group airline tickets it is likely that we will not be able to go. Please prayerfully consider joining the team. We had planned to go last year but had to put it off. The construction has already begun so our team will be helping out with final stages of construction. The building should be fully functional and in service very soon after our team returns home.

Please join the team for the experience of a lifetime!

I would love to hear from you. Please reply to let me know if you are a yes, no or maybe. If you are not able to join the team, please consider financial support. Please make checks payable to Oak Ridge UMC, 2424 Oak Ridge Rd, Oak Ridge, NC 27310. For construction and materials memo you check "DRC construction" and for team fees memo "DRC team fees".

I was blessed to lead the team in to DRC in 2012 and will serve as team leader for this team. Feel free to contact me with questions.

Thank you for your prayers and support for this ministry. (By contributing to this project, donors acknowledge that the church has full authority to apply contributions designated for this project to other purposes in the event the project is canceled or oversubscribed.)
