OUR STORY

FROM CARAVANS TO MASTER PLANS

Frontline Recruitment Group (FRG) was founded in 1995 by Debbie Davis. As a

mum caring for a young son, she switched from her former full-time role with a leading fashion retailer to a part-time one, handling the brand’s recruitment needs. Over time,

Debbie received recruitment enquiries from other retailers in NSW, and then interstate –

and so FRG was born.

In the beginning, FRG was operated exclusively by ex-retailers with young

children who were unable to work full-time hours. As a home-based business,

candidates were interviewed in coffee shops, shopping centres and hotels. Our

first offices were in a garden shed in Sydney, a garage in Melbourne and a caravan in a

front garden in Brisbane!

FRONTLINE RETAIL

Even as our biggest brand, Frontline Retail keeps things local. Our offices span a wide geographical footprint across Australia and New Zealand, making it easier for us to maintain the simple things that give us our edge – like interviewing candidates face-to-face, and keeping in touch with the local retailers looking for talent. {

{ Nothing but honesty. We don’t believe there’s anything to be gained by dressing up the truth. So we’re honest with people, whether it’s about salary expectations, interview feedback or the state of the market. We think everyone deserves to know the truth. And with us, that’s what they get.

{ Making great matches makes our day. Our work is all about people and problem solving. We love getting to know different individuals, learning what makes them tick, and figuring out how we can help. After all, there’s nothing more satisfying than finding the perfect fit.

{ Core business on the shop floor. While Frontline Retail recruits for all retail roles, our core business is operational retail roles – with the bulk of our recruitment being Area/Regional, Store and Assistant Managers. Frontline Retail also conducts large, bulk recruitment assignments for shop floor employees.

{ The talent on our books. Our strong advertising presence has led directly to the size and quality of our candidate database. Of the 1,539 candidates we placed in 2016, the lion’s share – 78% – were already signed to Frontline Retail.

HOSPITALITY

In comparison to other sectors, Hospitality is serviced by only a handful of specialist recruitment companies. Frontline Hospitality has seized on this and, through a combination of excellent service and solid support, placed over 590 hospitality professionals in their new roles in 2016. {

{ Clients enjoy stress-free searching. Life’s too short to be stressing over candidate resumes, references and interviews. We handle all of these details for our clients, so they can get on with life as usual. Communication is open and easy, and we’re always there when they need us. So they can relax knowing you’ll get the result they want, without losing sleep over it.

{ Our candidates come guaranteed. While we’re confident in the people we put forward, we do know chemistry is important within the workplace. So, if a candidate doesn’t happen to work out within the trial period of their placement, we’re happy to find an alternative.

{ We’re looking forward to future growth. Hospitality employment in Australia is one of the fastest growing employment sectors in the country. However, for clients who are building and growing businesses, this growth has led to a skills shortage challenge. To help our clients meet these challenges, the Frontline Hospitality brand will continue to strengthen its presence in the industry and add to our already strong talent pool, so we can more effectively source the right candidates for our roles.

FRONTLINE HEALTH

Health is one of the most challenging industry sectors for sourcing talent. Phenomenal industry growth coupled with a widespread skills shortage makes it tougher than ever to stay in the game. But despite the daunting market conditions, Frontline Health is now an established industry name and in 2016 placed more than 350 healthcare professionals in their new careers.{

{ Ethics are everything. Integrity may not be a quality you’d immediately associate with recruitment – but for us, it’s crucial. We pride ourselves on being honest and transparent in our dealings, and we refuse to poach or headhunt candidates.

{ Our competitive edge. Over the last decade, Frontline Health has built a strong relevant candidate sourcing channel.

As job roles in the health industry are often based around specific skill sets, ongoing refinements to the candidate application process and improved searching capabilities within the Frontline Health database are vital to keeping our competitive edge. By continuing to make these improvements, we’re ensuring that we’re able to help our consultants source and match the best available talent for our clients.

{ We’re not just about jobs, we’re about careers. It matters to us that our candidates end up in positions where they can thrive – and this is probably why so many return to us for help as their careers progress. By building long-term relationships with candidates, we can help them achieve their long-term goals.

{ Our focus on safety. All staff provided by Frontline Education will hold a current clear Working with Children Check. We re-screen all active candidates once a quarter, during each school holiday period. We meet every candidate face-to-face and spend time assessing their strengths and skills through our interview process. Only the highest quality candidates are offered work.

{ 24 hour availability. We pride ourselves on providing a genuinely personal service to our candidates and provide work that meets their requirements while fitting into their lifestyle. Our after-hours service is second to none and our consultants are here to support our clients with any after-hours enquiries.

{ Let us handle the stress of last minute recruitment. Using a recruitment agency for your casual staffing needs can save you incredible amounts of time. If you organise casual staff for your school, you will be familiar with the hectic rush to get casual staff organized at short notice, sometimes having to make 10-20 or more phone calls just to find one person who is available. In busy times, you may seem to be always trying to add to your casual list, but do you have time to screen every teacher who submits their CV, checking all their qualifications, ID, and approvals? We do.

{ We understand your industry. We’ve chosen to focus on the education sector, and have a thorough understanding of this industry, so we’re perfectly positioned to meet your needs.

FRONTLINE AGENCY

TEAMSUPPORT

All Frontline Recruitment Group agencies benefit from the proactive support of our Frontline Agency Support Team (FAST). {

Based in Sydney, FAST provides assistance and direction in the following key areas:

{ Marketing. FAST handles advertising, online marketing (including website development and hosting), search engine optimisation, social media and content development – such as analysing the results of our regular candidate and client surveys to develop insightful, widely-circulated online articles.

{ Contracts and Operations. FAST manages all client contracts – including preferred supplier agreements and tenders – and also conducts the accounts collections process on behalf of the agencies. FAST maintains the consistency of service across all agencies and, along with being a central point of contact for all accounts, also conducts ongoing customer satisfaction

surveys. Each year, FAST coordinates two conferences which involve all agencies, and regular “Industry Days” where all agency managers meet to review business plans in their separate industry groups.

{ Information Technology. The strict privacy and confidentiality requirements demanded by the recruitment industry makes data management critically important. In response, FRG has built its own proprietary recruitment and agency management system. The system has full offsite redundancy and uses independent third parties to record all electronic traffic entering and leaving the system, and can so provide full data origin and destination record keeping. FAST’s team of IT specialists ensure the smooth running and intelligent evolution of FRG’s IT systems.

FAST FACTSNumber of staff: 20

Location: Sydney

Average FRG experience: 7 years (Agency Manager’s Team)

10 years (Leadership Team)

{ Human Resources Support. Because ‘helping people’ is a strong part of what we believe, we’ve developed strong HR procedures and practices. All internal and external recruitment and management systems are documented, audited and backed up with improvement processes. Staff training is a major focus, with all new consultants receiving extensive formal training: an initial two weeks of recruitment and Frontline systems orientation, and then a three day induction training programme. Over the consultant’s next two years, as well as formal mentoring, they must complete three more compulsory internal training programmes. All formal training programmes are examined, and along with consistently meeting client servicing standards, all consultants must successfully complete the programme before they progress to higher responsibility roles.
