Nearly a million students from 10 000 Cambridge schools in 160 countries now prepare for their future with an international education. We believe education works best when curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment are closely aligned. We encourage teaching practice that engages students in their own learning, and we support our programmes with high-quality resources. Our view is that assessment should both prove and improve students’ learning, giving them focus, pace and challenge. We organise our assessment in a way that maximises time for teaching and learning. Our programmes develop deep knowledge, conceptual understanding and higher-order thinking skills, to prepare our students for their future. We are part of the University of Cambridge and the only exam board that is wholly owned by a world-leading university, and we have a 150-year history of providing international exams

EnglishThis course allows learners to: develop the ability to communicate clearly, accurately

and effectively when speaking and writing learn how to use a wide range of vocabulary, and the

correct grammar, spelling and punctuation develop a personal style and an awareness of the

audience being addressed read widely, both for their own enjoyment and to further

their awareness of the ways in which English can be used

9th-IGCSE Combined ScienceProvides learners the opportunity to study biology and

chemistry within a scientifically coherent syllabus. Emphasis is made to the relevance of the concepts studied

to everyday life, and to the natural and man-made worlds.

10th - IGCSE PhysicsConceptual development of topics including mechanical,

thermal, and atomic physics, properties of waves (light and sound), electricity, and magnetism.

The Application Process

Before Lottery –Read the Cambridge documents and review the

Cambridge Student Profile to determine if the Cambridge AICE Program is a “fit” for you

Commit to preparation needed to enroll in either IGCSE Mathematics or Mathematics – Year 1

Complete the LWSD High School Choice School Application for Cambridge Program and submit it onlineby Friday, December 13, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

After the Choice School Lottery –

Participate in student/parent group conference with Cambridge representatives (week of January 20th)

Read all Cambridge documents provided at information night (also posted on website)

Final acceptance due by email to [email protected] by Monday, January 27th at 4:00pm. (Acceptance results in removal from other LWSD wait lists.)
