WELCOME

Built in 1730, Hylands House is an elegant grade II* listed Neo-Classical villa with lavish period rooms from both Georgian and Victorian eras. The opulent interiors boast stunning views across the 574 acres of landscaped parkland. It is hard to imagine a more memorable and unique setting for a ceremony and reception.

HYLANDS HOUSE

The beautifully restored neo-baroque Banqueting Room provides the perfect setting for your wedding. With 24 carat gold leaf and scroll decorations, silk lined walls and hand painted wall motifs, this opulent space provides a stunning backdrop for your wedding ceremony or reception space.

Its elegant floor to ceiling windows let the light stream in and give a stunning view of the back lawn, and the sweeping parkland beyond.

THE BANQUETING ROOM

The Drawing Room is a remarkable space with a fabulously ornate and gilded ceiling, complemented by the beautiful hand-painted wall motifs and a stunning marble fireplace.

With a dual aspect overlooking the beautiful parkland and views opening out onto the East Terrace, the Drawing Room provides a wonderful setting for your wedding ceremony.

After your ceremony, the East Terrace provides the perfect visual opportunity for both romantic and group photographs.

THE DRAWING ROOM

Complete with sparkling chandeliers and ivory drapes, the Grand Pavilion offers a stylish celebration space, perfect for you to decorate in your own unique way. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to wash over the room whilst guests enjoy private views of the courtyard.

The Grand Pavilion offers an open plan space with modern uplighters, a stunning bar and plenty of room for a DJ or band. It provides the perfect setting for large banquets and receptions.

THE GRAND PAVILION

The dedicated bridal suite offers a calm and relaxing space to be used by the bridal party throughout the day. Filled with natural light and stunning views over the parkland, the bridal suite is the ideal space to begin your big day.

The bridal suite is also available to the happy couple throughout the day as a place to relax and retreat before returning to the celebrations.

THE BRIDAL SUITE

The ornate Victorian Pleasure Gardens can be found hidden in the 574-acre Hylands Estate adjacent to Hylands House.

The beautiful formal gardens date back to the early 1900s and has an impressive planting scheme creating a beautiful display and stunning backdrop for your wedding photography.

A small Lily pond, flanked by two oak arbours clad in Wisteria and borders containing beautiful seasonal flowers, is a delightful feature in the spring and summer months.

THE PLEASURE GARDENS AND PARKLAND

At Hylands Estate we welcome cultural ceremonies for up to 300 guests.

We understand that space and flexibility are important. At Hylands Estate we offer meticulously restored period interiors and a contemporary Grand Pavilion, all of which makes an impressive setting for small and intimate ceremonies through to large and lavish ceremonies such as Mandaps or Chuppahs.

The commitment of the Hylands Estate team with years of experience will ensure that your ceremony adheres to your specific cultural and traditional beliefs.

CULTURAL CEREMONIES

Hylands Estate operates as a dry hire venue. This allows you the flexibility to choose your own contractors, including your own caterer. You can even bring in your own drinks and operate from our bar using a designated contractor.

We have a carefully selected list of caterers who provide excellent service at Hylands Estate for your perusal.

FROM M25 Exit the M25 at Junction 28 on to the A12 towards Chelmsford and Colchester. Exit the A12 at Junction 15 on to the A414 dual carriageway towards Chelmsford

FROM HARLOW/ Mll Exit the M11 at Junction 7 on to the A414 towards Chelmsford. At the Widford roundabout follow the signs towards London/M25 on A414 dual carriageway. At the Three Mile Hill roundabout take the last exit re-joining the A414.

FROM COLCHESTER/ NORTH ESSEX Exit the A12 at Junction 15 towards Chelmsford. Follow the Hylands House brown signs for the main entrance.
