Arts amp Crafts Month of the Military Child contest The Heart and Home Craft Shop is sponsoring a craft-themed contest for

children 6 to 18 The theme is ldquoProud to be a Military Childrdquo All through the month of April our sales team will be offering classes for children

including canvas beading looming tye-dying stain glass and more

Any of the items made in these classes can be

submitted for the contest We will also be accepting

things made at home The rules for the

contest are as follows 1) Each item must be

handmade 2) The project must coordinate with the

theme 3) Any work is

accepted quilting drawing painting

knitting etc 4) All entries must be in

by 5 pm on April 22 5) Each submission must have an entry form which can be

picked up at the Craft Shop Entries will be judged on April 26 by

USAG Grafenwoehr Spring Cleanup 9 ndash 13 May Main Post Grafenwoehr and Rose Barracks military community members to include off-post housing

areas will participate in the 2011 Spring Clean Up to improve the appearance of our community facilities clean our areas of responsibility and prepare for the upcoming summer Spring Cleanup is Everyonersquos Responsibility All Soldiers Civilians and Family Members will participate This applies whether you live in government or government-leased quarters as well as at the work place Areas of concentrated emphasis are homes work places and designated common areas Please help make this the best place to live and serve in Germany by sorting your trash and keeping our area neat and clean 9 ndash 11 May Housing areas and Soldiersrsquo quarters Maximum participation of housing occupants is necessary to successfully execute this program Soldiers will report to their AreaBuilding Coordinators to receive specific instructions for clean up Sponsoring Units will also participate in their respective areas Focus will be on the entire building (basements washrooms storage rooms etc) and a 50 foot perimeter around the buildings and the common areas End state is a complete cleaning of housing buildings common areas and grounds 12 - 13 May This is time for units support agencies and commercial establishments to clean their areas of responsibility All agencies occupying facilities are required to participate in cleanup efforts The Rose Barracks recycling center to be open 8 am ndash 5 pm during this time The Self Help Store will have tools and equipment available Special materials required should be obtained from Self Help Store NLT 1-week prior to the Spring Cleanup (paint topsoil beauty bark etc) Units will be able to pick up any required equipment NLT April 18 All checked out equipment must be returned to Self Help Store NLT 1 week after scheduled cleanup

Main Post Traffic Circle current road and traffic revisions Now ndash end of April Total closure of the north part of Wilbur Road between the Grafenwoehr Water Tower and

the new traffic circle Traffic from Gate 1 to reach the JMTC HQ Bank and Community Mailroom area will be detoured via Argonne Ave and Gettysburg Ave During this phase traffic through the construction site will be limited to east to west or east to south All other traffic will reroute via Saratoga Avenue The one lane available on Gettysburg Ave of the southern portion of the traffic circle will only allow traffic flow from east to west (USAG HQ ndash JMTC HQ Mailroom ) and south towards Burger King and to access Concord Road (Tower Theater) Traffic from the JMTC HQ Bank Community Mail Room and Service Credit Union area will have to leave via ChildersYork Road or Shiloh Ave

Since it is not possible to allow oncoming traffic between Burger King and the Traffic circle the right lane of Wilbur Road will be blocked right after the access tofrom Burger King Additional road construction work on Fisher Street will block thru-traffic Access to and from the Grafenwoehr Tax Office (Bldg 216) will be via Argonne Ave Directions for alternate pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be posted
