29 cricketers suspected in alleged fixing in IPL II: Reports

29 cricketers, including two Australians are suspected to be involved in sport-fixing at last year's IPL in South Africa.

The list includes some high-profile names but nobody from England or Pakistan, whose players did not take part due to security issues.

Three Pakistan players - Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir - were suspended by the ICC for their alleged involvement in sport-fixing.

RBI likely to hike policy rates this week to curb inflation

The overall inflation is still hovering around 10 per cent, economists also expect the RBI to increase the policy rates to tame price rise.

It is expected that RBI will increase short term rates by 25 basis points.

Currently, the repo rate is 5.75 basis points, reverse repo is 4.50 basis points.

Reckitt sues 'copycat' Bharti, Wal-Mart JV

Reckitt Benckiser India has served a legal notice to Bharti Walmart demanding it to withdraw its Great Value toilet cleaner, as it infringes upon the ‘bottle design and cap’ of Reckitt’s Harpic brand.

Great Value is Wal-Mart’s top-selling umbrella brand, with estimated global annual sales of close to $11 billion.

Harpic leads the 60-crore toilet cleaner segment with 75%-plus share.

Scouting for more global acquisitions: Marico

Marico Industries said it is looking at buying out more companies and brands in the Asian and African regions as part of its expansion plans.

This year, Marico has made three global acquisitions:

Derma RX- Singapore based personal care firm. Code 10-Malaysian based personal care brand. Ingwe-South- African health care brand.

Buyouts for Wipro Consumer to be product-centric, not region

IT major Wipro's FMCG arm Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (WCCL) plans to focus on getting into more categories rather than entering new geographies as a part of its growth strategy.

The company is open for further acquisitions but only if the product suits and fits into Wipro's portfolio.

Wipro has been aggressive on inorganic growth.

It has so far acquired five international brands such as Glucovita, Chandrika in Sri Lanka, Yardley (UK and Middle East), Unza (Singapore) and Enchanteur (UK).

It has its global footprint in regions ranging from the Middle-East to South-East Asia and is now eyeing Africa.
