Everyone at KSPS is very proud of you! Next time you call in at the office, please take the time to look at our PBL wall of pride, where photos of all of our Tawny Badge recipients are displayed. Keep up the great work! I know that we have lots of students working hard to achieve their stage goals by our next Tawny Badge Assembly in Week 8. Kinder Transition Program This week we see the last session of our Kinder Transition Program take place. It has again been a huge success and our 2018 Kinder students are very excited about starting school next year. Over the ten week period all of the students have participated in a wide range of school readiness activities and have become familiar with our staff and school. I would like to thank of wonderful transition team of Mrs Mills, Mrs Burgess, Mrs Farrell, Mrs Clout, Mrs Cupitt, Mrs Fishpool and Mrs Philpott. All of the staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure the program ran smoothly and that the children had a successful and positive start to their school years. We look forward to our 2018 Kinder students commencing school next year and building on the positive connections and learning that has taken place throughout the program. Exciting Events Coming Up Pantomime The busy end of the year is approaching and we have many exciting opportunities for our students and parents forthcoming. Tomorrow Stage 3 will be visiting Singleton Public School for a performance of their annual pantomime - something our students enjoy every year. We thank SPS for their hospitality. KSPS Musicians Shine

What a fantastic evening it was at the 139th Anniversay of the Singleton Town Bands Combined Bands Concert on Saturday night. Four of our very talented KSPS School Band members, Abbey K, Shayna M, Grace N and Chelsea S proudly played

alongside Singleton Public School, St Catherines College and Singleton Heights Public School. The audience enjoyed all the sounds from ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘Iko, Iko’, ‘Theme from Jurassic Park’ and ‘Three Faces of Kilimanjaro’. Well done.

Celebrating Grandparents at KSPS

All our KSPS grandparents are welcome to come along next Tuesday, 14th November to enjoy some quality time with their grandchildren in class and for morning tea.

Itinerary for the day will be as follows:

11.15am-12.00pm: We invite grandparents to join their grandchildren during lunchtime in the grounds outside the library. A morning tea will be provided. During this time we also invite you to visit the library with your grandchildren. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a book from our Book Fair.

12.00pm-1.00pm: Please join in a classroom activity in your grandchild's class. After 1pm classes will resume as normal for our students.

We look forward to your company!

Get your Working With Children Check Ready for 2018

At our school we greatly value the role of the generous volunteers that help our school and it’s students on a daily basis.

We would like to remind everyone that as of next year all volunteers will be required to have a Working With Children Check when in our classrooms or accompanying students on an excursion. We encourage you to apply for the check very soon, as there will most likely be a rush of applications towards the end of the year.

What is the Working With Children Check?

A Working With Children Check is a requirement for people who work or volunteer in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and a review of findings of workplace misconduct. It is valid for 5 years.

How do I Apply?

STEP 1: Complete an online form at www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/check. Once they have submitted the form, they will receive an application number.

STEP 2: Take their application number and proof of their identity IN PERSON to a NSW Motor Registry, Government Access Centre, or Service NSW office. The proof of identity required is the same as for a NSW photo driver licence. If they are in paid work, they must also pay the fee.

STEP 3: If cleared, the applicant will receive a WWCC number which they must then provide to the school office for online verification along with his or her full name and date of birth.

The Working With Children Check helps to keep our children safe. If you have any questions or would like to use our computers to submit your application, please do not hesitate to contact our school office.

We thank you for your anticipated support.

Kindergarten Transition Program Tomorrow our Kindergarten 2018 students will ‘graduate’ from their Transition Program. It has been a pleasure to meet them all and have them part of our school. They have had the opportunity to meet other students, our teachers and discover what ‘big’ school life will be like.

Thank you to all of the parents who have supported their children. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2018.
