INTRODUCTION

In india more than 70% population of this region depends upon agriculture for livelihood while the land suitable for agriculture is limited .The multifarious trees deliberately retained by the farmers on the farm bund forms the agroforestry combinations.Weed infestation is one of the major factors limiting crop productivity. Weeds not only reduce the yield but also make the harvesting operation and ensuring food security ,effective weed management is very essential.

Agroforestry is the any sustainable land-use system that maintains or increases total yield by combining food crop (annuals) with tree crop (perennials) and/or livestock on the same unit of land ,either alternately or at the same time .

CONCLUSION

Mechanical weed control method (hand weeding) is the best method of weed control and improving mungbean yield for the small areas in agri- horti system.

Chemical weed control i.e. Imazethapyr was most effective in suppressing weeds and improving mungbean yield in agri- horti system.
