What does preserva0on really mean?
Preserva0on is not a special treatment but rather a thorough professional cleaning and then proper storage.
Any gown that is ‘preserved’ may be
worn again.
Sooner than later.
Over 0me, stains may become more difficult or even impossible to remove.
Certain gowns may require a restora0on (wet cleaning); this is the same process used on heirlooms.
All of our bridal gowns are photographed pre and post cleaning.
At Hallak, we test beads and other trimming for strength and durability; your gown is also inspected for loose beads and any other necessary minor repairs.
Before the actual cleaning, spo[ng specialists carefully pre-‐treat stains such as the hem and other soiled areas.
As a members of the AssociaSon of Wedding Gown Specialists, we follow our wedding gown cleaning with a trademarked an0-‐sugar process. This treatment helps prevent ‘invisible’
sugar stains from turning yellow over 0me.
When fully hand-‐finishing your gown to perfec0on, Hallak takes
extra care to follow the designer’s line and drape.
Finished gowns are then carefully folded & wrapped in acid-‐free 0ssue paper. To complete the preserva0on process, a dress is finally placed in a museum archival preserva0on box. Gloves & viewing gloves are included.
