T HE OFFICE OF MINORITY ANDINTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (OMIS) seeks to create and sustain an inclusive campus

environment that meets the needs of all students, faculty, and staff. We accomplish this througheducational and social programs, services, andtrainings that facilitate dialogue around difference and intersecting social identities. We advocate for thewell being of students by encouraging their academic, cultural, and social success, especially for studentsfrom underrepresented campus constituencies(students of color/American ethnic minorities, students from abroad, first-generation collegestudents, and LGBTQIA+ students).

We work collaboratively with a broad base of on- and off-campus constituents to promote learning, discovery, and scholarship about diversity, difference, power, privilege, bias, social justice, and intersectingidentities. We value equal and full participation, seriousand open intellectual inquiry, and shared goals.

The Office of Minority and International Studentscarries out the U.S. government mandated functionsthat allow Colorado College to issue documents for international students to attend the college.Colorado College is authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students.

Goals❖ Promote constructive pluralism and foster inclusivenessthrough advocacy, relationships, and experiential education. ❖ Engage the majority and minority CC campus community (faculty, staff, students) by providing opportunities for dialogue and exchange across multiple identities of difference. ❖ Buildpartnerships that advance integrated knowledge andlearning both inside and outside of the classroom.
