Trunk Test: Sections and SubsectionsOn this you can see sections like Watch Movies, Devices, Support, and Disc to Digital. There are subsections under devices to choose from.

Trunk Test: Local NavigationFrom the Watch Movies section you can go to one of the local pages being New, Browse, Collections, My Vudu, or Search. To find what you are looking for deeper you can go to one of their sections such as My Movies, My TV, My Wishlist, or My Pre-orders.

Description of Site Overall

• Vudu.com has a great way of navigating from section to section. Starting from the home page there are many options clearly labeled along the top of the site depending on what you are looking to do on the site. Whether it’s renting, buying or redeeming an ultraviolet to add to your collection. The site also has a great selection of new and old movies and tv shows to choose from. Purchasing and renting is fast and easy for the consumer. The hardest part is deciding what it is you want to watch.

Links and Navigation Design

• Links tell the viewer exactly where they are going if they click on it and if they want to go further in there are subsections that show more of the where they could go if they are looking for something more specific. On every page there is the Vudu logo in the upper left hand corner that can bring you back to the home page at any time. Below the links there is a scroller bar that has all of the current deals on collections of movies or free episodes of TV shows.

Images and Color Usage

• Throughout the site the colors stay constant. The background is black and the text is in a grey-white color. But the Vudu is always a bright blue so that it stands out among the black background. The hilighted “you are here” on the sections are in bright yellow. This is another use of making the color stand out among the black backkground.

• The only images that are on the website are adbox artwork for the movies or TV shows themselves. All of these images are links to the movies page on vudu. This page includes cost of renting or buying the movie in different formats and also the rotten tomatoes review of the movie along with the director and cast of the film. There is also a 5 star rating system so you can see what other viewers though of what you are about to watch before watching it.

Visual Continuity

• With the exception of the different cover art on each page, the site stays consistent from page to page. The links are always at the top and the logo is always to the left.

Final Thoughts

• Overall the site is very successful in creating a user friendly site that is easy to navigate. The colors stand out where they need to and the links are short yet tell you where you are going
