You have learned that little kids grow up to become adults. You have also learned that puppies grow up to be dogs and kitties grow up to be cats. Do you know what a butterfly was before it becomes a butterfly?
You are going to learn about the life cycle of a monarch butterfly. It is important to understand the four stages of a Monarch butterfly’s life cycle!

1. First, on your own, read through this website explaining the four stages to the life cycle of a Monarch butterfly: Butterfly Website
2. Write down the answers to these questions on a piece of paper:
• What are the four stages of a Monarch butterfly’s life cycle?• About how many days does it take for a Monarch butterfly’s eggs to hatch
after they lay them?• During what stage does the Monarch butterfly do all of it’s growing?• What is molting?• What are the intervals between molts called?• During which stage does a caterpillar officially become a butterfly?• What is the most important job of an adult Monarch butterfly?
