During groups the class will focus on the patterns of the story and work on retelling the story in sequence. Phonics Focus: We will continue FUNDATIONS and wrap up Unit 1 this week. Students will know how the 4 quadrants are set up on our tile boards and will work on tapping out words in Unit 2 next week. Word Sorts will begin next week at home! Writing: We started writing in our journals and on writing paper. The students are focusing on sound spelling (writing what they hear), capitals and periods, and using the lines correctly. What We Are LearningThis Week

Social Studies: We will continue Chapter 1 this week. It focuses on How We Get Along In School: by sharing things, listening, taking turns and talking and to our peers.
Science: We have been rolling right along with our unit on WEATHER. We will use our senses and tools such as an Anemometers and Thermometers to observe the weather.
