CONCORD “Where Caring Mr. Simone’s Class Elementary School And Learning Room 362 GO HAND IN HAND” October 20 th – October 24 th HOMEWORK: Monday: 100 Book Challenge and Sight Word Card Word Sorts: New sorts are in their green folder Math: 3-1 Tuesday: 100 Book Challenge and Sight Word Card Math: Topic 3-2 Wednesday: 100 Book Challenge and Sight Word Card Word Sorts: Write Rhyming words for some of your sorts Math: Topic 3-3 Thursday: 100 Book Challenge and Sight Word Card Math: Topic 3-4 What We Are Learning This Week Reading: We are going to read stories called: The Big Toe, The Teeny Tiny Woman, and Frightened. Guided Reading Groups are established. During groups the class will focus on the patterns of the stories, sequencing, and personal connections. We will introduce the POWER RETELL!! Phonics Focus: We are working on DIGRAPHS (UNIT 3). Ask your child why the ck is at the end of a word (use ck at the end of the word after a short vowel) We are working on WORDS OF THE DAY and TRICK WORDS as well. Writing: We will be writing about the Fall in our Journals and also about certain themes like: Bullying, The Weather, etc. Think Fundations when you are writing your words!!” Math: Unit 3: Five and Ten Relationships. We are moving right along! Units 1 & 2 Tests are completed. Results will go home shortly. Science: We have been rolling right along with our unit on WEATHER. We will use our senses and tools such as an Anemometers and Thermometers to observe the weather. We are made rain gauges and will observe puddles this week. Check out the iMOTION Puddle video on my website!!
