The man is wearing a hoody to conceal his true identity this is to keep is location secure from whoever out there is after him.The darkened effect on his body only shows the rough outline of his body to give a suspicion towards him.The camera angle shows the majority of his body as currently he is the one in power.

This still shows the character writing a mysterious note, we don’t know to whom or what about. This creates another atmosphere of hidden meanings to the character.The props of a weapon and a lighter shows that he could be a smoker and has a dangerous weapon to potentially hurt someone wich is another typical convention for action/thrillers.

This over the shoulder shot shows the two character having a face off and the character who is looking at the camera has the majority of the camera which represents that he is in power. However he is going to be the one who will end up knocked out on the floor which challenges the conventionsA face off for a fight/brawl is another convention of violence.Both men are wearing hoodies but they are not up shows that they are ready for a brawl.

This is a still from Hoodstrong. It is a hooded man who his face is hidden and very simple clothing. This does not reveal his identity but secures it from whoever might be out there that could use his identity to carry illegal tasks or he could be using it to cover his crimes.

For example just by ringing the police this shows that around in that area it is a common thing that people do get threatened and they are used to it. This man who is standing behind this women is her husband (hoody). Who for the whole day tracked his own wife everywhere she went. The police got suspicions and managed to search his car. The police found:

A .40 caliber handgun, ammunition for the gun, a machete, a stun baton, a baseball bat, a bunch of knives, brass knuckles, 39 pieces of paper depicting violence, handcuffs, pepper spray, a stick handle with a screw protruding from it, arrowheads, a Kevlar helmet, cable restraints, a couple of wigs, duct tape, a black stiletto-heeled shoe, several boxes of gloves, and a Valentine's card that said, "A Promise for My Wife."

This dangerous man was wearing a hoody so that his wife could not see his true identity. The hoody is now a stereotype of a very dangerous individual who is hiding from something or someone usually to carry out a crime or something they should not do.

Q4. Empire. Hoodstrong features action throughout the film and suits the Empire because they target heavy action films such as Iron Man 2. The audience that the Empire targets are the people who are into action/thrillers films. Other magazines such as Total Film do represent action films but they do not specifically target action enthusiasts like Empire do. Empire has made themselves known in the media industry and have a reputation in reviewing good films that the readers might want to see. Due to Empire having good reputation and for being well known they have gathered a large group of the public to rate the films they review the more people that rate the review or film the more reliable it will be.

As Hoodstrong is a great film and people that do not know about the film the public will be searching reviews about the action packed film and Empire would give great reviews about the film as its what the action enthusiasts want and crave.

The professional acting from Louis Nunn is top class in a way that most films dont usually show. His agile fast paced skills make Empire the right magazine for representing Hoodstrong as the Empire magazine only show films of great quality and who are worthy Oscar films. Another rule that Hoodstrong have broken is thats its a low budget film which means that it can only spend a low amount of money on props and equipment, usually low budget films are not very classy or top of the range in its genre but Hoodstrong has shown that this statement is not always true as the film is different and strange in some ways which is elegant.

Review:Vergo Productions have made themselves known in the media industry. The cast and crew have shown a clever performance in the making of the film. The main foundations of the film are beautiful and show the potential in Harley Mayes (director). Having a small

production crew you might think that Hoodstrong wont be an amazing film as it is and that the new thing about the film in its genre as no blockbuster worthy film have done and this film clearly shows that it can be perfectly executed and its possible.

The starring actor of the escapee running from an unknown enemy has performed superb and stunning acting showing the main conventions if an action/thriller. The film is action, mysterious and unexpected. The transitions between the cuts are smooth and don’t jump. Every transition and the timing of the music flows and is brilliantly done in a professional way. Great credit to the editor at the editor as there is a start of black and white at the start and at one specific moment it all lights up. The camerawork is steady and effective as it shows many angles at different scenes of the film.

The main plot about the film is that there is an unexpected twists to the storyline and this is kept hidden from the audience throughout the film which gives the viewers a sense of mystery. The story is touching and slightly emotional as Lois Nunn makes his adventure through the harsh world and the reality of the possible threats that could happen to anyone. This young teenager has been struggling for a long time and people are after him because of what he knows and what he can do with the information. Cairn Ivers and Waseem Kara make a delightful appearance in Hoodstrong even though they are just shown to be beaten up by the main character Lois Nunn but they complete the film.

Q.6 Evaluation

Wordpress. I used wordpress to blog all the tasks and everything we did in the task to show the skills we have learnt and that we know what software we are using to make our thriller project. With Wordpress it is easier to embed your videos and images and write up text to the blog this is a very effective way to simply blog your posts.

Photoshop. We used photoshop when making the poster of Hoodstrong so that we could edit the original image of the hooded character and cut down the edges to make it a perfect fit for the poster. In photoshop we learned how to use the magic wand tool to cut down the background colour and make it transparent so we can insert our own colour. The font in photoshop is unique and we used a font that symbolises the Hoodstrong theme. There were many other tools in photoshop that we did not use because it was not relevant to the poster creation. The colour of the different fonts represented Hoodstrong as it is dark and gloomy also the hooded man is faceless and is not seen this gives him a hidden identity which reflects the main character in Hoodstrong. The only drawbacks of this software are that it was very time consuming and took effort. You also needed to have some photoshop knowledge to know what the buttons meant and/or represent.

Garageband. We used garageband for when we had to create some slow moving music and on the other hand we made some fast paced edgy music to fit in with the theme of Hoodstrong. The options for the different types of musical instruments had many effects and this meant we could fully customise the sound so that it would fit perfectly into the

film. The drawbacks of using this software is that there is so many options that it could be difficult in deciding your true music for the film.

After effects. This program was the most complicated for me as there are too many options and when the time came for converting the file it took a very long time as we wernt experts at after effects and it was the second time we used it. It was really good as we could customise our titles and credits fully and have many animations and different fonts and styles. This was good as we could give it our own little spin on the fonts and the styles so that it would fit in with Hoodstrong's theme. However we did not use After effects to finalise our credits instead we used final cut as it had everything we needed in one specific program which was more convenient than having to import and export files from many different programs.

The best program/software yet had to be Final cut. Final cut is a great program as you can customise simple credits in many shapes, fonts, styles, colour and animations. This was the package as that’s all we needed to make Hoodstrong's credits. Once you got the hang of Final cut it was a simple task to use it and create our film. After a hard days work of recording and capturing images, with only a small amount of time left we could simply and smoothly import our new filming into Final cut very easily just by clicking on the button “log in and transfer” once the camera is connected by USB into the Apple Mac you can now insert fspecific files from the camera into Final cut very easily and quickly. A few moments later the files should be ready to import and it does this automatically. The disadvantages for final cut is that you cant perform all types of complex tasks on Final cut this means you must use other programs such as garageband for music also you need to master final cut in order to use all its features.
