Hello everyone. I hope you are all keeping well. Although I was really looking forward to meeting you all I am happy to be able to guide you through some work that can be completed at home during this time. Below you will find suggested work for the next two weeks. We want to stress that it is suggested work only. My email will be made available on the school website soon for you to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to send on pictures of your child’s work for me to look at or correct. Ms. Duggan Suggested Work – 20th -24th April
English:
Reading - Read English Sheet 1 (poems). Discuss bolded words and answer comprehension and Vocabulary questions (starlight combined reading and skills book pg. 38+39). Can answer orally or write onto sheet in or in a copy
Put bolded Words into sentences orally.
Shared Reading/ DEAR Time every day.
Spell Well – Week 23 (ir, or, ur); activities B,C,D.
Put some spelling words into sentences.
Writing - Daily Diary – write 2-3 sentences about what you do every day.
Practice letter formation
Maths:
New Content – Adding 2 digit numbers without renaming (Tens and Units) – the children will be familiar with the term tens and units but have not encountered addition using tens and units yet. This is an important topic and it will be covered again when the children return to school. Remind children of the rule –‘ Add units 1st’ as this will be very important when they begin renaming.

SESE:
Eggshell Investigation: Place an egg into a glass/container of vinegar. Predict what will happen to the egg. Leave for 2 days and check what happened. Check your prediction and draw a picture of the result. (See SESE sheet 1)

Design your own lego character using template attached to this document

Interview Your Grandparents: Phone one of your grandparents (or an older person you know) and ask them questions about when they were in school. See SESE sheet 1 for a list of suggested questions. Draw a picture of you with the person you interview.
