Using Patchwork to Develop Reflecting Team Processes

Patchwork text in learning and teaching is a method of inviting people to come to a shared knowledge through mutual support. It encourages sharing of ideas and deepening of learning about self, practice and theory.

This workshop will describe how we have used ‘patchwork’ methods to enhance systemic learning and development and reflecting team processes. You will be invited to take part in an exercise and experience using the patchwork process. This will be followed by a discussion about the implications for our practice.

Lesley and Kath are both family therapists in Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and lead systemic psychotherapy training at the University of Derby
