Lab 5 Music Festival Part 2

Possible Locations for Music Festival in Humboldt County

Methods

All layers were projected into NAD83 UTM Zone 10 North. Since the location of the music festival could not intersect any rivers we produced a selection of all areas that did not overlap with any rivers by performing a special query. We used the Buffer tool to get a 600-meter buffer between any wetlands. We then used the Erase tool and omitted all the areas within 600-meters of any wetlands. Since the music festival requires a stable cell signal we selected only parcels within a stable cell signal rage. We then selected all parcels greater than 70,000 m2. For our base map we then used an ESRI world satellite map. Any final candidates could only be on rural residential land within Humboldt, County.

Results

A total of 10 parcels were identified that met the following criteria.

1) An area of >70,0002) Within sable cell signal range3) Not intersecting any moving waterbody4) >600 meters from any wetlands5) And on rural residential land
