Other activities:
If printing is possible….1. Print and cut out these pictures. Face them down and as you turn them
over say the Irish word.
2. Place 5 pictures on a table face up. Tell your child “téigh a choladh” (tay-a-kula) (go to sleep). Take one picture away and say “dúisigh” (doo-shig) (wake up). Your child will try remember which one is missing and say the word aloud. Repeat and change up the pictures.
3. Pick one of the new words and act it out, the others must guess which word you have by saying ‘An _______ é? E.g. ‘ An bear é? ‘ Answer ‘Sea’ (sha) ‘Ní hea’ (Knee Ha)

1. Using the outline butterfly template at the end of this document or on from home, cut and stick magazine/newspaper/coloured paper cuttings to make colourful wings for the Butterfly.
2. Using coloured paper, draw around the outline of your hand four times. Cut out your handprint. Make the butterfly’s body by drawing the number 8 and cutting out the outline of it. Decorate how you wish with a face and anything else you can find at home.

Rules
All players start on the arrow. Roll your dice to get a number and move your counter along, following the numbers
on the board in order. When a player lands on a digraph, all players must race to write a word containing
that digraph. The game ends when a player reaches the star at the top of the board. Count up how many words you had containing digraphs, did you get the most?
