1 st Grade – Remote Learning Activities for the Week of April 20, 2020: Google Meets Daily, Monday – Friday at 9:00 a.m. Monday-Thursday - Using the following choice boards, complete the “Must Do” tasks. Then, 1-2 “May Do” tasks may be chosen. Friday will be used for a family learning activity and/or completing “Must Do” tasks from the week. See Specials Teachers’ websites for their activities. Learning Targets: ELA ELAGSE1RI8: Identify the reasons an author gives to support points in a text. ELAGSE1RI9: Identify basic similarities in and differences between two texts on the same topic (e.g., in illustrations, descriptions, or procedures). ELAGSE1W3: Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure. Math MGSE1.G.3 Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares. Science S1L1. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about the basic needs of plants and animals. Social Studies MGS1. Use a compass rose to identify cardinal directions. MGS2. Use intermediate directions. MGS7. Use a map to explain the impact of geography on historical and current events.
