YOU HAVE FORGIVEN THE INIQUITY OF YOUR PEOPLE AND BLOTTED OUT ALL THEIR SINS. I WILL LISTEN TO WHAT THE LORD GOD IS SAYING,

FOR HE IS SPEAKING PEACE TO HIS FAITHFUL PEOPLE AND TO THOSE WHO TURN THEIR HEARTS TO HIM.

TRULY, HIS SALVATION IS VERY NEAR TO THOSE WHO FEAR HIM, THAT HIS GLORY MAY DWELL IN OUR LAND.

MERCY AND TRUTH HAVE MET TOGETHER; RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE HAVE KISSED EACH OTHER.

We’ve just begun a new liturgical church year. Once again, we’re in Advent — preparing for His coming. In the Incarnation, God presented us with His most valuable gift in the Eternal Word made flesh.

With Christmas, we’re reminded:

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life,1 and the life was the light of men. 5 the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Our Lord Jesus, the Word, is the Creator, Owner and Redeemer of everything on this planet we call earth; this is God’s world. As Christian stewards, we’re reminded that our giving is but a response to Christ’s gift to us. In His earthly sojourn, Jesus was a steward charged with the divine mandate, “Redeem the world and all who dwell, or will ever dwell, in it.” In His stewardship call, Jesus calls us to be stewards of the world He’s entrusted to us, but more than that, of the Gospel message He’s given to us.Ever since that first Christmas, when the wise men brought their gifts, and when the shepherds brought the homage, giving has been a tradition of Christmas. How could anyone ever experience the joy of salvation and not have a desire to give. We give to God through our offering. We also give to

God in our efforts to evangelize this world and help others come to love our Savior who came not just as Creator, but as victory over the grave.

Thank you, Lord God, for the gift of Jesus Christ, who enables us to be stewards of all that You have entrusted to us. Amen. Our church office is

open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The phone number is 330-392-5939. The email address is

[email protected] We here at Emmanuel are having in person worship services. We are following

the guidelines provided by the CDC. Facemasks are required, and we have face masks if you forget yours, and we have hand sanitizer
