+ LITURGY OF THE WORD +

After Each reading: A: The Word of the Lord. C: Thanks be to God

THE first reading Deuteronomy 18:15-20

PSALMODY Psalm 111

Hallelujah! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in

the assembly of the upright, in the congregation.

Great are the deeds of the LORD!

They are studied by all who delight in them.

His work is full of majesty and splendor,

and his righteousness endures forever.

He makes his marvelous works to be remembered;

the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

He gives food to those who fear him;

he is ever mindful of his covenant.

He has shown his people the power of his works

in giving them the lands of the nations.

The works of his hands are faithfulness and justice;

all his commandments are sure.

They stand fast forever and ever,

because they are done in truth and equity.

He sent redemption to his people; he commanded his covenant

forever; holy and awesome is his name.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;

those who act accordingly have a good understanding.

His praise endures forever.

THE SECOND READING I Corinthians 8:1-13

THE HYMN OF THE DAY

PROFESSION OF FAITH APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

and born of the virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again.

He ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

Thank you to Pastor Koene for his advice and help during the first couple of days after David’s passing when I was lost and didn’t know what to do first. Thank you to Terry for putting the service on Facebook and the website for our “out of town” family and friends and thank you to Dean for the beautiful music during the service. It’s people like all of you that make the hard times a little easier and I thank God for you.

If anyone would like their Sunday School envelopes, please call me and I will see that you get them. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon and we can resume our Sunday morning Bible Study.
